Four people died in the horror crash near Lake Tekapo over the Easter Holiday.
Phillip Woodham, 71, a member of The Patriots was one of them.
Two others were Malaysian students from the University of Canterbury.
A horror crash between two cars and a motorcycle claimed the lives of four people over the Easter holiday, one of them being an honoured and treasured member of the Defence Force Motorcycle Club.
Phillip Woodham, 71, better known as Woody by his brother-in-arms, from Ashburton, was a ‘real genuine Kiwi who loved to ride and loved his mates’.

President of the South Island Chapter Darren Dumble said Woody loved nothing better than turning up to a club function “with a cheeky grin and a bunch of tall stories told with a dry wit”.
“Woody was, by his own words, the most popular guy in the Patriots. Maybe that was because of his outrageous luck on the pokies, but mostly it was because of his easy-going manner and warm handshake.”

Phillip Woodham (Woody), 71, died in a serious crash near Lake Tekapo over the Easter Holiday.

He was part of The Patriots - a worldwide motorcycle club of former and present members of Defence Forces.
Woody previously served in the New Zealand Army as an Infantryman and from past photos seen by the club had been a section commander.
“To be a section commander, you need to have an excellent rapport with the troops, something Woody would have excelled in,“ Dumble said.

Woody rode a Harley and was known to loiter around the back of groups “taking in the view and just being happy he was with his mates”.

Woody was part of The Patriots, a worldwide motorcycle club of former and present members of Defence Forces.

Dumble spent six days riding with Woody and his friends last year and said that during that trip he saw Woody’s happy place “was on the bike, cruising up and down the West Coast of the South Island.”
Woody had been planning a weekend away with the Chapter to Berlins on the Upper Buller Gorge, the club now intend to continue his planning and make it an annual event called Woody’s Ride.
Two Malaysian students from the University of Canterbury were also killed in the SH8 crash and a fourth person died on Sunday.
As investigations continue, police couldn’t share any information into what caused the crash.

tapi bila baca kes anak anak ni
teringat kisah anak sendiri

Tak jugak. I dulu nama je belajar kat UK tapi Scotland dan Wales tak pernah jejak, cuma pergi ke London je time weekend sebab busy sangat assignment melambak dan sebab tak cukup duit ( I tak larat nak kerja part time/cleaner sebab tak pandai nak junggle banyak benda dalam satu masa). I dengor kalau masuk Imperial College lagi la assignment melambak sampai jarang keluar bilik (betul ke?). Kalau ada jalan jalan pun ada lah pergi Netherland kebun tulip naik bas je daripada airport Schipol + Barcelona dan Vienna naik flight dan tram sahaja (public transport). I takde gigih nak join konvoi bawak kereta jelajah keliling negara. |

Aku pernah kena rompak masa study dulu tapi tidak sedikit pun aku menyalahkan ummah negara tersebut sebab under the circumstances it could have happened to anybody. Di tanah air pun lebih teruk lagi ada.

Orang kata perompak ni bukan pembunuh, bagi ja apa dia nak (kalau ada). Kalau betul tak ada cakap ja tak ada, depa akan berlalu pergi. Paling penting jangan panik atau melawan. Tapi ya lah, cakap memang senang.

adik meols masa study UK, kalu nak holidaying dia prefer ke island2 in Spain mcm Ibiza, Majorca, pastu island kat France. Jadi mmg kena naik flight. Ada jugak pergi Scotland naik train dgn kawan. Takde konvoi bawa keta dgn kwn2, lagi satu tak salah min age for renting car in UK is 23, mmg diorg tak bole nak rent a car sendiri.

hat tak kelua2 bilik tu ada yg some depression or ada anxiety/adhd... ada jugak coursemate yg sampai 2nd sem ni tak penah jumpa batang idong, tu mcm masalah meols sebut tu la, tp ada je recorded lectures, so can catch up bebila sbb kadang ada tube strikes etc
niway all work and no play makes jake a dull boiii , balance is key.
