based on draw...Murray takkan jumpa Federer kat final..coz awal2 lagi kalo both players kalahkan opponent masing2..diorang aku jumpa kat quarterfinal...which is gonna be a cracker... |

aha..the challenging rules..thats what they call as instant replay..they use the hawkeye technology to replay the game...( ball placement that is..)
in a men's five-set match at the US Open, the rules would permit up to 20 challenges in a match...im not sure for the ladies..but from what i heard from the commentator during the live telecast..each player entitle to have 5 challenges...hope that explain.. |

Tnx payrol...What happens if the player loses a challenge? Does he get pinalised or what? I did not hear the commentators elaborating on this.
Aah, it seems players are given 2 challenges a set and a 3rd one during tie breaker. This development is good as we have seen many a times players have been robbed by bad line calls. I understand the instumentation is rather expensive and its usage is still limited.

Just watched the Haas- Safin game and Haas had 2 failed challenges and the commentator mention some big deduction on Haas. Deduction of what ......that's the question ? So , I made a search and finally came across this rule:
"Calls upheld will count against a player's allotment. "
From my understanding, if theplayer proceeds to the next round, his allotment of number of challenges in that round would be reduced by the number of challenges he failed in the previous round.
Am I right? |
