Computer glitch causes wrong results in 23rd June Singapore Idol Competition
SINGAPORE: The Singapore Idol result announced during the show on Thursday night was wrong.
One of the two contestants voted in by the audience was Nurul Maideen, and not Mathilda D'Silva.
Mediacorp Channel 5 says the mistake was due to a technical glitch.
The winners announced last night were Emilee Kang and Mathilda D'Silva, while Nurul Maideen was picked by the judges to vie for the last two spots in the Top 12 at next Wednesday's Wildcard show.
Now it will be 23 year old Mathilda D'Silva who will join the wild card pool.
"It was a technical glitch but we have to maintain the integrity of the show, keep it very credible. That is why we are coming out to you to tell people there was actually a technical glitch," said Steven Ong, Managing Executive Producer, MediaCorp Studios.
The producers say they will be doing extra checks at future shows to verify the voting results.
"Right now the only thing I can think of is how I'm going to prepare for Wild Card, what song to sing, what to wear, and how to do a proper show," said Ms D'Silva.
MediaCorp TV Channel 5 says the results for the first three episodes and the revised result for last night's episode of Singapore Idol have been independently checked by KPMG. - CNA /dt |
