This is the largest lake in the city of Anchorage, yet it’s use is not mainly swimming or boating! Many of the home dwellers surrounding the lake are pilots and the lake is used essentially as a landing strip. Parked next to homes are planes rather than boats! It’s not the only lake around used in this manner for a state that has the most pilots per capita in the US, but it’s the largest lake right in the city and happens to be on the edge of my neighborhood.
