anyone here know any other forums like cari.com.my where everything is in english?
goshh....... my english was so bad when i was in secondary school that i did a sudden change of conversing english with my friends while they converse mandarin with me. my classmates say i`m showing off while first class studen deemed me as
trying to reach the moon....
what do you all think of english as a second language? well, i treat it as a communication tools to communicate globally...
english do no dominate my mother tongue.... i will constanly improve my english but i will not replace english with my mother tongue... i realise there are a lot people out there who are anglo-phones (non english spaeker who adopt english as their mother tongue) well, tat is not the main problem.... the main problem is that they consider themself as being more superior
by conversing in english.... WTF... i knew a number of chinese who studied in english school... when i speak with my fren in mandarin, they start to behave like... yuckss.... you actually speak mandarin? speak english please! y should i speak othere language when i`m talking to my people? people like you are a disgrace to your community....
english is indeed important, but it is not the ultimate perfect language.... but many people do not see it this way....
once, i remembered i went to this relative gathering, i`ve got a couple of anglo-phone relative who consider themself as being more class as they converse in english..... my parents are not literated in english and only possess fundamental english
knowledge... somehow, this anglo-phone relative sort of want to show off or dispice me and starts to converse english with me while they know how to converse in our mother tougue. they just refuse to... disgrace maybe they felt......
this is the trend that is happening now... english and western mindset are dominationg ours....
now i`m currently in UK and guess what? the british here are towards japanese and chinese culture. more and more british
are learning mandarin and english..... and i`ve seena lot of british tatooing japanese and characters.....
so, do not dispice your own culture.... english is important! but do not let it dominates your own.... like a tree....
our mothere tongue is your roots.... it is where you begin... english is like the branches and leaves... that helps you to reach higher....... |

confident/confidence to talk in english..not to forget writing.poor english
n yet,i'm still learning it.
yeah, some people think if they can converse in eng..they are first class people.
we have to think the language is to help you for your career development.
is like extra bonus.
sometimes is funny, when some so called high class people, they even change
their lifestyle.emmm...just to show that they are really English man. |

hello everyone. i remember in my college days when we have to study The Great Gatsby by Scott Fitzgerald. So every week, chapter by chapter the book was read and explained by our lecturer, an American Muslim man. It was a great experience. and the movie was great too.. |

life here is boring man..... the british... clubbing, get drunk and get laid... hehe
i realise the younger british are more discriminating to asians..they do not despice you o insult you... they just INGORE you.....
while the older british are very friendly toward non british.....
i think one think msian should learn from the british is not their lifestyle or slang o wat.... but their manners.... i think most msian lack of it...
they can say thank you with a big smile while msia seems lazy for a simple thanks.. |
