I Want To Play For Juventus - Werder Bremen's Diego
Diego wants to move to Turin, however, Werder Bremen are playing hardball...
Werder Bremen ace Diego has reiterated his desire to play in Italy, insisting he wants to do it for Juventus.
Reports around the peninsula have the Brazilian down as the top priority on Juve's summer transfer list. The Bianconeri have always maintained their penchant for Diego, with Claudio Ranieri recently revealing that he likes the player.
The Werder Bremen man has been outstanding this season and he has fired his side into the UEFA Cup semi-finals. However, it could be all change next term as he has told Juventus to come and get him.
"There are many great players in Serie A, and the football is of a very high standard," Diego told Tuttosport.
"I would like to play against those players, and I want to do it in a Juventus shirt. I think Italy would be a great opportunity for me."
Despite reports suggesting the Italians are close to reaching a deal with Werder for their man, the Germans reject these claims.
"Diego is priceless and we want to keep him because he is very important to the team," Werder Bremen director Klaus Allofs told Tuttosport.
"We will do everything we can to keep him for next season."
