West Brom 1-3 Arsenal
Nicklas Bendtner ended Arsenal's BPL goal drought as they defeated West Brom to raise their European spot hopes.
The Denmark international struck twice to take his goal tally for the campaign to 11 as Arsene Wenger's side moved to within three points of fourth-placed Aston Villa.
Kolo Toure was also on target for the Gunners who had failed to net in their previous four league games with Albion managing a solitary reply from Chris Brunt.
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger tonight made four changes - one of them enforced - from the side held to a goalless draw by Fulham, for the Barclays Premier League match at West Brom.
Johan Djourou replaced injured central defender William Gallas (ankle). Nicklas Bendtner, Emmanuel Eboue and Alex Song came into the side at the expense of Robin van Persie, Carlos Vela and Abou Diaby - who were among the substitutes.
Albion captain Jonathan Greening made his first start for five-and-a-half weeks after medial ligament damage in place of Borja Valero.
On-loan Arsenal striker Jay Simpson was ineligible to face his parent club, and Luke Moore came into the side to partner Marc-Antoine Fortune.
Arsenal, unbeaten in 13 league games, made a positive start and needed only four minutes to end their recent goal drought - through Bendtner.
Samir Nasri's corner was headed clear by Greening but only found Denilson in space on the edge of the Baggies area.
He had time to find Bendtner, and the striker easily cut inside Ryan Donk before drilling a low left-footed drive across Scott Carson into the corner of the net for his 10th goal of the season.
Yet Albion needed only three minutes to draw level through Chris Brunt - although there was big question mark over the quality of the Arsenal defending.
The recalled Luke Moore was brought down 20 yards out by Gunners defender Djourou, and Brunt's low free-kick skidded through the defensive wall and past the dive of Manuel Almunia.
Bendtner missed a great chance to restore Arsenal's lead after 13 minutes.
Eboue fed the ball into the feet of the Danish international, who was unmarked 12 yards out but blazed his shot over the bar.
The game was flowing from end to end, and Almunia had to go down at his near post to hold on to a fierce shot on the turn from Moore.
Carson was looking uncertain in the Albion goal but did well to cling on to a low whipped-in cross from Andrey Arshavin.
Gianni Zuiverloon made a good break into the Arsenal box but then toe-poked a weak effort straight through to Almunia.
Robert Koren became the first player to be yellow-carded after 34 minutes for chopping down Bendtner in full flight just inside the Albion half.
A deep corner from Brunt caused problems for Arsenal and was turned back across goal by Fortune but Moore was unable to keep his header down.
Then after 38 minutes some dreadful defending allowed Kolo Toure to restore Arsenal's lead.
Arshavin floated a free-kick into the area and Carson remained rooted to his line as Toure stole in to plant a free header into the corner of the net for his first goal of the season.
Albion tried to respond for a second time but Toure was back in his own box to head clear a centre from Paul Robinson.
Brunt became the second player to be booked for a foul on Denilson.
Then a minute before the interval Bendtner struck for the second time to double Arsenal's advantage.
Toure's long ball caught out the Baggies defence and Bendtner was able to skip away from Abdoulaye Meite before hammering a fierce shot past Carson.

Arsene Wenger made a half-time substitution, Diaby replacing Toure. Arsenal were soon back into their stride, knocking the ball around in confident style, and Arshavin delivered a dangerous cross into the box - but no one was on hand to take advantage.
Fortune made a good run to seize on a reverse pass from Brunt. But Moore had not anticipated his low centre, and the ball flew harmlessly through to Almunia.
Carson did well to parry a fierce drive from Arshavin after he had been teed up by Bendtner, bursting unchallenged into the Baggies box.
The England goalkeeper excelled himself in denying Arshavin at close range after more good play by Bendtner.
Arsenal were queueing up to fire shots at Carson, who was relieved to see a long-range attempt from Diaby deflect off Meite and over the bar.
Then Bendtner just missed a hat-trick when he cut in from the left flank, skipped past Meite and Robinson and hammered a low shot against the post.
Carson went down to deny Eboue but was getting little protection from his defenders, who seemed reluctant to put in a challenge.
There were ironic cheers from the Albion fans when Fortune sent a header straight at Almunia after 63 minutes - their first attempt on goal of the second period.
Meite became the third Albion player to be booked, for bringing down Diaby.
Fortune could have pulled one back but drilled his low shot wide of the far post.
Mowbray brought on Filipe Teixeira and Juan-Carlos Menseguez in place of Brunt and Morrison.
Sagna had time and space to line up a shot but fired over the bar.
Donk became the fourth Albion player to be yellow-carded for a challenge on Diaby.
