The airline apologised on its Facebook page for the inconvenience caused to passengers who were left stranded at the airport in New Zealand because most nearby hotels had been booked out for a concert by English singer-songwriter Adele.

Adele's New Zealand tour has been confirmed as the biggest of all time
Adele is probably on a plane heading home by now, but final numbers have just landed for her series of Auckland shows - and they're huge.
The UK star played three shows at Mt Smart Stadium on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, with last night's soggy performance ending a 15-month world tour on the back of her third album, 25.
Promoters Live Nation today confirmed the three shows broke ticket sales records in New Zealand.
Total sales for the show totalled more than 130,000, 40,000 more than any other artist.
She's also the only musician to sell out three shows at Mt Smart Stadium.
Adele also broke a number of records during her Australian shows, including playing to record numbers of 200,000 over two nights at Sydney's ANZ Stadium.
Promoter Michael Coppel said it had been "a privilege and truly a career highlight" to present her first tour down under.
"The audiences have been ecstatic at their opportunity to see a true superstar at her peak," he said.
At her rain-drenched show in Auckland last night, Adele warned it might the last time we'll see her.
"Touring isn't something I'm good at ... applause makes me feel a bit vulnerable. I don't know if I will ever tour again. The only reason I've toured is you. I'm not sure if touring is my bag," she told the 40,000-plus crowd.
She now heads home to complete her tour with four UK shows.

Record numbers use public transport to Adele concert at Auckland's Mt Smart Stadium
A "massive" more than 80 per cent of Adele concert-goers used public transport to travel to Mt Smart Stadium last night, according to Auckland Transport.
Adele took to the stage shortly before 8pm, opening her show with her classic song, Hello, singing to more than 45,000 people.
Auckland Transport says record crowds used buses and trains to get to and from the venue.
"The numbers using public transport were massive, close to 27000 on the trains and 7600 on buses," said Brendon Main, Group Manager AT Metro Operations.
"We'd like to thank people for travelling early. The trains were crowded and some people had to wait after the show but everyone was good humoured and seemed to have a great night."
With one concert down and two to go, those intending to travel on public transport should check bus and train schedules as they slightly differ on the weekend.
There won't be any event buses travelling from the North Shore, however, passengers can travel free into the city on Northern Express services from 3:30am by showing your concert ticket.
There will be signage to follow to event buses and trains.

Special events buses will depart opposite Queens Wharf on Quay Street.
There will be additional trains before and after the concerts on the Southern and Onehunga Lines to and from Penrose Station, which is approximately a 10-15 minute walk.

Sbg an avid concert goer, plus org terdekat pun mmg annual income byk dr touring, rasa terpanggil lak nk eksplen sal big tour nih.
Kat sesetengah negara mcm US, Jpn, European countries, Oceania, concert tour adalah satu industri, malah to the extent adalah culture, terutama kt yurop & Jpn.
Kat mana2 negara dgn tour industry pun (seperti contoh kat atas), bila super big names buat shows, derang tak guna hall with up to 10k capacity, atau arena with up to 20k capacity. Derang guna dome (up to 55k capacity) atau stadium (up to 80k capacity). Katakan la show tu kt satu city, bukan org dlm city tuh jer yg gather, tp dr serata ceruk negara akan dimobilize. Bukan dlm negara jer, malah fans dr negara2 luar, yg jauh2 pun, bukan negara terdekat jer. Even org terdekat Kittie pun, nama dia takde la sebesar Adele nih, tp fans dia dr US, yurop sanggup dtg, sanggup berperang nk dpt tiket. Yg around Asia lg la.
So, bila sampai bab hotel, mmg leh sakit jiwa kalau tak cepat. Dr semurahnya hingga semahalnya, ye la, derang dh byr bukan ratus2 ringgit tp cecah ribu, tak kesah pun klu kena berabis lg kt hotel. Salunya, bila satu2 act tuh dh umum tarikh tour & schedule, biasanya 3~6 months before, mmg crowd yg dh biasa akan book siap2, bab ubah tambah kurang tarikh tuh nnti2 leh deal ngan hotel, yg penting book dulu. Klu tak, get ready la kena lepak epot ke, wat bodo masuk love hotel ke, lepak 24hr fast food resto ke. Utk normal tourists yg kebetulan bertembung dgn big events camnih, mmg kena redha la klu lambat.
Ok, berbalik kat Adele nih. Apa yg Kittie tulis kt atas nih kira mende biasa jer, pun dh rasa sesak kan? Yg Adele kat NZ nih pecah rekod ok (tgk pg sebelah). Bukan pecah rekod tour jer, tp pecah rekod hotel, pecah rekod public transport.
Adele ada 3 shows kat Mount Smart Stadium, full house, optimum capacity, over 45k mobilization per show (day). So bygkan la nk sumbat kat mana manusia2 yg dtg luar Auckland, yg dtg dr luar NZ lg. A bunch of my friends booked 2 months ago, tuh pun dpt yg dh mahal nk mampus, tp redah jer sbb sikit jer lg nk full booked masa tuh, dgn nk fly dr Taiwan lg, plus derang dh dpt tix Adele nih.
Nih plak tb2 MAS nak book byk2 last minute camnih, kat celah bedah mana nk sumbat, kitepun tak tahu. Leh book kat Dunedin kot, baru lah leh extra cuti2 NZ kan? (sarc)
Bila terkena macam ni, mmg terpaksa la terima diri sendiri yg nasib malang. Sbb Kittie pun pernah terkena masa kat Boston, kes kedekut takmo book hotel lps gediks ngan abe Matt Bellamy, nk balik London terus, sekali kena delay, hotel dh full pdn muker. Tp utk kes Kittie nih, I was part of the goers, bukan tourist. So mmg akan ada tourists yg tak faham.

ko ingat Adele tu taraf Siti Nordiana ke?
sebelum komen cabuk baik check berapa jumlah orang yang datang. Kalo accommodation dah ada jauh sikit dari airport so transportation macam mana? Dah check in dapat pula hotel taraf Rajah Boat di Chow Kit, komplen lagi
Bila travel ni 1 je la aku nak pesan especially oversea, be prepare dgn segala kemungkinan termasuk kemungkinan mampus tak di jumpai
Ni baru stranded 2 hari siap bagi meals bagai.
iols dah stranded di airport 2 hari xde meals sebab nyonya perut boyot nak naik flight ke KUL, degil nak mampus wpun officer dah bagitau tak boleh naik
konon dia sendiri doktor & confirm aman damai kalo terberanak dalam flight sampai polis semua datang
2016 experience dgn Cathay Pacific, what de hell sangat nyonya itu
