MEM Proton Satria Neo S2000 & Wilks maintains 14th place after finishing 13 stages in day 1. Basso's Abarth leads the 2 Peugeots of locals - Magalhaes and Camacho, with only a 16 second gap. IRC current points leader, Meeke, is in 6th position.
Mem Proton Satria Neo S2000 completes the IRC Rali Vinho Madeira in 11th overall after finishing the last stage with the 10th fastest time. Basso, in his Abarth S2000 wins the rally with just 3.5 seconds separating him from local hero Magalhaes and his Peugeot S2000.
Multiple Malaysian and APRC champion Karamjit Singh is confirmed to drive the new MEM Proton Neo S2000, entered for events APRC in Malaysia, Indonesia and China.
Singh will have regular co-driver Jagdev Singh alongside him the potent new Proton and the pair should have good chance at challenging for the 2009 Asia Cup.
