A man-made island in the shape of the Hibiscus flower will be erected in the blueish Straits of Malacca by the year 2020. This mega project known as the "Pulau Bunga Raya" will be developed with the aim of making the island as a destination for holiday-making, entertainment center, business hub and a cultural heritage region that will be etched as our nation's latest landmark.
This investment of an estimated 10 billion (sorry no indication of whether it would be in USD, RMB or RM) in construction venture is made possible through China's Gansu Marine Province Holdings with two other local organizations, Mestika Sdn Bhd and Eipu Holdings which has already formed the Mestika IEPU JV for this purpose so as to start planning on this island project.
China's Gansu Marine Province Holdings will be overseeing the financing part, infrastructure design and the construction work, allowing it to take on the role of a developer whereas the Malaysian counterpart will be responsible of engaging more local companies to be involved with the project.
Mestika IEPU JV Managing Director, Encik Jasmi said during the interview that the China's Gansu Marine Province Holdings will be the major investor for this RM13 billion island contruction project.
Once completed, the 1500-acre man-made island will be renamed as Mestika Heritage Island and will serve as a tourism hub and a business district at the same time.
Mr. Jasmi added that there would be 2 phases for this project. Phase 1 consists of 2 Islands - Island A and Island B. Island A's landmass covers 800 acres while Island B's area covers 700 acres. Phase 2 stage remains a secret for now.
"Island A will be built to accommodate for an international golf course, theme park, cruise terminal with immigration facilities, free tax zone and business center. Besides that, 220 acres would be allocated for villa and vacation homes.
On the other hand, 160 acres of the B Island will be used for the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Heritage Village; International Islamic University; Islamic Trade Center that includes exhibition halls; Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) Heritage City; Islamic Heritage and Civilization Center; “One Malaysia, One World” development strategy movement; hospitals and other several facilities.
Mr. Jasmi said that the island will be based on the concept of the richness in Malacca’s historical wonders and multiracial background due to its undisputed origins of being an open port for international trading centuries ago and also a place where it still carries the remnants of the past of wartime occupation. Hence the architectural design will reflect this diversity, so as to attract the descendants of those countries to make Malacca as their 2nd home.
“Based on our 2-year study, 80% of the members of the Organization of the Islamic Conference (OIC) agrees to the Chinese funding and this island will be the common platform for their business endeavours. China's Gansu Marine Province Holdings will be in-charge of attracting more of China’s companies to come over for work and investment”
He said that it was through the contacts of DMDI that both local companies were able to be acquainted with the China's Gansu Marine Province Holdings and hence the eventual partnership for this project.
“China's Gansu Marine Province Holdings are known to have the expertise in running such a project. Hence we have the utmost confidence that this project will complete in time. Details of the construction will be announced soon.”
He added that both parties hope to convert the island into an international world trade center for business people from all around the world to pursue their activities here and in return, this would resuscitate the local economy.
On 14 May, all three representatives from each of the companies have signed a memorandum of understanding in the presence of Malacca Chief Minister “Ali Gostan”.
Mr. Jasmi said that he expected the whole project to start in 6 months’ time and the estimated completion period would be in 7 years. If one were to view from the sky, the island that is implemented with the elements of China’s green technology, would appear in the shape of 2 large Hibiscus. |

sbb tnh tambak bkn tanah adat kot
tpi overall mlk fared much better dr other state.. sbb quota mlyu maseh 30% kt bandar, lebih dr 50% utk kwsn lain.. klo xlaku xde plk die buat pelepasan quota mlyu..sbb xde pelepasan jgk, ko leh mintak diskaun terlampau kt developer..aq aritu quoted 15% utk bumi lot kt tmn paya rumput indah(ni tgh buat)..ade sedara aq bli kt cheng 30% below mkt value utk unsold bumi lot.
klo negeri lain,dh terhegeh2 dh die lpskn quota tu sbb klo nk beli umah je,amoi sales ckp dh abes. sbb nk tunggu pelepasan nk jual kt cina...even mall kt mlk pn kne ade 30% quota mlyu..
tpi org mlyu jual tnh punyerle antu,.tnh se ekar 3/4 lapis dlm dr jln, dh kt ujung negeri pon nk jual 125k.. |
