Taun depan 250cc dh padam dah..ganti dia Moto2..
MotoGP Basics
Moto2
What is Moto2?
A new 4-stroke MotoGP World Championship class was announced on 11th December 2008 and is set to replace the 250cc category from 2010.
Taking the name of Moto2, this new category is intended to be a prestigious yet cost-effective accompaniment to the premier class of MotoGP.
Some of the key characteristics of this new category of Grand Prix racing will be the single engine supplier and a single tyre supplier. Honda Racing Corporation was chosen as the engine supplier, while Dunlop, currently present in the 125 and 250cc World Championships are to provide the tyres.
Technical specifications
Powered by a one-make 600cc 4-stroke engine, producing around 150hp, the Moto2 class will continue the 250cc series' pursuit of developmental excellence with the running of a prototype chassis -free from limitation.
No production bike parts will be permitted for the frame, swing arm, fuel tank, seat or cowling, meaning that these aspects of the machine will be left to the manufacturer and designers. discretion.
However, electronic systems will be more limited than those currently permitted in 250cc, which has seen select factories bringing in traction control in recent years. Moto2 rules will allow for data loggers, ECU and timing transponders supplied by the organiser, with a maximum total cost of the ECU's components set at 650 euros. No other electronic control, nor datalogging systems, will be present on the bikes.
Moto2 in the CEV Buckler
Moto2 bikes made their first competitive outing in the 2009 edition of the CEV Buckler - the Spanish National Road Racing Championship, with teams such as Promo Racing, Laglisse and BQR lining up early Moto2 prototypes and displaying impressive potential. |

Moto2: 250cc replacement class regulations announced
FIM announce that 600cc four-stroke class will run limited engines and electronics with a prototype chassis.
The four-stroke competition set to replace the existing 250cc series in 2011 has been detailed by an official announcement from the FIM, setting out regulations for the new 600cc World Championship. Taking the name of Moto2, the new category is intended to be a prestigious yet cost-effective accompaniment to the MotoGP premier class.
Of the rules confirmed by the FIM this week, the shape of the class will be formed by those pertaining to the bikes´ engine. The 600cc, four-stroke motors will have a maximum speed of 16,000 rpm (for 4-cylinder engines, with 15,000 and 15,500 rpm limits for 2 and 3-cylinder engines, respectively). Adherence to these boundaries will be monitored and controlled by an electronic system, supplied by the FIM´s designated organiser.
Electronic systems themselves will be more limited than those currently permitted in 250cc, which has seen select factories bringing in traction control in recent years. Moto2 rules will allow for data loggers, ECU and timing transponders supplied by the organiser, with a maximum total cost of the ECU´s components set at 650 euros (75,000 yen). No other electronic control, nor datalogging systems, will be present on the bikes.
Moto2 will use standard options in terms of engine and electronics, but will continue the 250cc series´ pursuit of developmental excellence with the running of a prototype chassis -free from limitation. No production bike parts will be permitted for the frame, swing arm, fuel tank, seat and cowling, meaning that these aspects of the machine will also be left to the manufacturer and designers´ discretion.
Carbon brakes like those used in MotoGP will not be a part of the 600cc class, part of the cost-reducing philosophy of the new series. A list from the FIM, detailing outlawed `non-conventional´ materials and manufacturing methods, will be issued in the future, although in most cases a standard of iron-based and aluminium alloys has been put in place.
Moto2 machines will be limited to one per rider, with a maximum of two complete engines. Those engines used in any given race will be available for purchase by rival competitors, for the fixed price of |

Rossi: It's me or Lorenzo at Yamaha in 2011!
During an interview with the BBC, Valentino Rossi warned that Yamaha must choose between re-signing him or team-mate Jorge Lorenzo for the 2011 MotoGP season.
"Yamaha have to decide between me and Jorge for 2011," he said. "I have a great option to join Ducati."
Lorenzo has been Rossi's closest rival this year, only losing the title to nine time world champion Rossi at the penultimate round of the season.
Rossi has repeatedly stated his displeasure at developing a bike that will also benefit his closest championship rival.
Both Rossi and Lorenzo will remain at Fiat Yamaha next season.

BEN AND TOM BIRCHALL – 2009 FIM SIDECAR WORLD CHAMPIONS
Mansfield brothers Ben and Tom Birchall won the 2009 FIM Sidecar World Championship after finishing in second place to outgoing champion Pekka Paivarinta and passenger Adolf Hanni at Le Mans in the final round of the series in September.
Ben’s younger sibling Tom has rewritten the history books by becoming the youngest ever passenger at 22 years and 257 days to win a World Sidecar championship making it a double celebration for the Mitchells of Mansfield sponsored team.
World Sidecar Championship contenders Ben and Tom Birchall are facing a new challenge for 2009 for as well as contesting the World Championship once again on the F1 LCR Suzuki they will also make their debut at the Isle of Man TT races on an LCR F2 outfit powered by a 600cc Honda engine plus run in the 2009 British F2 championship.

Perginya seorang Ibu Motorsport pada Hari Ibu
Kanan, Bulldog Kuan, 76 tahun bersama rakan karib seorang lagi legenda pelumba motor Malaysia 60an iaitu Chris Howell, 73 tahun.

Nicky Hayden Unveils his 2010 MotoGP Weapon
December 24, 2009
By Cycle Canada
Ducati MotoGP rider Nicky Hayden was as excited as a kid at Christmas about seeing his new Desmosedici GP10 racer during a recent tour of the Ducati Corse factory.
"...I guess I could say Santa came early for me this year, because when I got to see my new bike it was kinda like Christmas morning, but looks like I will have to wait to till February before I get to take my new toy out and play with it," wrote Hayden on his blog.
Apparently Hayden's excitement at seeing his new toy compelled him unwittingly unveil it to the world on his personal website.
"Here are a few photos from my visit to Ducati. I came by yesterday to check in with the fellas and to see my new weapon for the 2010 racing season. There are a lot of changes that have gone on at Ducati in the last bit, but the one thing that never changes is the passion."
A noticeable change is a larger vent on the side fairing, likely to keep the engine cooler and help prolong its life, as teams will only be allowed six engines per bike for all 18 MotoGP races in 2010. Also clearly visible in Hayden's pic are carbon brake discs. |

John Hopkins to Return to MotoGP in 2010 with FB Corse
December 21, 2009
By Cycle Canada
John Hopkins, whose last two teams—Kawasaki in MotoGP and Stiggy Honda in WSBK—both folded due to the world economic downturn, was without a ride for 2010 and rumoured to be considering racing for Pat Clark Motorsports in AMA, but fledgling MotoGP team FB Corse has now announced they’ve signed Hopkins for their inaugural season in 2010. Hopkins will begin testing in the new year, before joining his new team in Milan on January 21st for their official presentation.
For their MotoGP effort FB Corse will be using a proprietary chassis powered by an inline triple (the only in the series) said to be left over from BMW's short-lived MotoGP campaign. It's estimated that FB Corse's entry will have 10% less horsepower than the other bikes on the grid, however FIM regulations allow for a 15lb weight reduction for three-cylinder machines over their four and five-cylinder counterparts, meaning things might balance out. Still, it looks like Hopkins will have his work cut out for him. |
