kalo aku pon pening nak decide antara rossi dgn quagliarella... dua2 scoring cantik.. tp dlm banyak2 game budak 2 org ni yg aku pernah tgok, aku rasa quagliarella punya long shot lagi cun laa...
suspen jugak tgok lippi punya final 23 nih.. defender 7 org je.. dulu 2006 dia bawak 8... dah la 4 org memang centre back...

Giuseppe Rossi misses Italy squad, goofs up ESPN cover

Italy coach Marcello Lippi named his 23-man World Cup squad late Tuesday, and when he finally did so there was no room for striker Giuseppe Rossi. Born in New Jersey to Italian immigrant parents, Rossi has two passports and could have played for either the USA or Italy. He famously chose Italy, and scored two goals against the U.S. at the 2009 Confederations Cup. Which didn't go down so well with American fans.
There are definite advantages to having dual nationality. You get two passports, for example, so if you ever lose one before a flight, you've always got a spare. It's a bit like being Jason Bourne, except better because all your memories are intact and no one is trying to shoot you. The downside is that if you're a professional footballer, then at some point you have to choose between those two nations, and whichever nation you don't choose is going to be mad at you.
So there will be some USA fans out there claiming they're glad Rossi failed to make Italy's final 23, that this is karma for not choosing the USA over Italy. Which is more than a little harsh, when you consider that Rossi has suffered some poor form for Spanish club Villarreal due to injuries this season, and lost his father to a long-term illness in February. Despite all that, Rossi still came thisclose to making the World Cup squad of the reigning champions, and was only cut at the last possible moment.

In fairness to Rossi, he made his choice early, playing for the Italy junior teams from U-16 onward. When Bruce Arena offered Rossi the chance to play for the USA in 2006, Rossi had already committed to play for his mother and father's homeland. So Rossi's really done nothing wrong. Unless you count agreeing to appear on this (poorly conceived and, as it turns out, inaccurate) ESPN cover:

Last but not least, consider this: Rossi went with his heart and for the team that was always going to be tougher to crack. But there's no way of knowing what will or won't happen in the future, and choosing the USA over the country your parents immigrated from is no guarantee that you'll make it to the World Cup. Just ask Freddy Adu.

7 defenders mmg gerun. tp kalau tgk2 balik pilihan lippi, dia amik yg all-rounder punya. criscito boleh main centre and kiri, bochetti pun sama, zambrotta main kiri n kanan. even chiellini pun kalau nazak2 boleh cover kiri. tp boleh ke italy bertahan kalau chiellini x main centre?  |
