Arashi's 30th single, "Monster," set a new record on the sales charts this week. At 543,000 copies sold, it barely surpassed their previous single "Troublemaker" (542,000 copies) to achieve the highest opening-week sales so far this year. It is Arashi's second consecutive single to break the half-million mark in the first week.
Kana Nishino's latest single earned her the #2 spot with 39,000 in sales, while Korean group FTIsland ranked 4th. TETSUYA also made the top ten at the #8 spot.
With no major album releases this week, #1 was claimed by the EXIT TUNES album "Vocalogenesis" with virtual idol Hatsune Miku, which sold 23,000 copies. No other new release broke the top ten, except for the latest character album by "Prince of Tennis" character Kuranosuke Shiraishi at #6.
JACK IN THE BOX 2010 SUMMER Performances Part 2 Revealed!
The second part of the line up for this year's JACK IN THE BOX has been announced just recently!
The artists featured on top of the already participating artists belong to the MAVERIC DC GROUP and are namely acid android, girugamesh, TETSUYA, VAMPS, ZORO plus sads.
Also, the participation of VAMPS, who are out for their summer Zepp tour after the release of their album, has also been announced. The driving performance of HYDE and K.A.Z. is a definite "must-see".
Moreover, the "Summer JACK" recently reunited group sads has been added as well. After seven years they will be releasing their new album "THE 7 DEADLY SINS" on July 7th. After Kiyoharu's appearance on stage the previous year, a fierce live can be expected.
Eventually the contents of this "Summer JACK" have been revealed and adding all participating bands until now, there will be a total of 14 performing bands. Further information will follow in the coming days.

The New York Anime Festival (NYAF) has announced J-Rock "super group" VAMPS, consisting of L'Arc-en-Ciel singer HYDE and Oblivion Dust guitarist K.A.Z., as its first announced guest for the 2010 event. The group will host a Q&A session and a concert during the October 8-10 weekend. The event will be part of the group's 2010 world tour, which will include stops in the United States, Spain, France, China, and Chile.
VAMPS was launched in 2008, although HYDE and K.A.Z. have worked together since 2003, in the early years of HYDE's solo career. The duo toured the United States in 2009 and played in 10 venues. Those venues included New York, two Warped Tour shows, San Francisco, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Baltimore, where the band performed at Otakon 2009.
NYAF, traditionally a standalone event, is taking place alongside the New York Comic Con (NYCC) at the Javits Center in New York City this fall. NYCC had already announced Stan Lee — creator of Heroman, Ultimo, and a wide variety of American comic book characters — as its "spotlight" guest of honor.
Some big news for fans of solo artist TETSUYA (L’Arc~en~Ciel)! He has announced that he will be releasing his second solo single this year under his new name.
The single, entitled, “LOOKING FOR LIGHT” is set for release on August 18th and will be made available in two different types. Regular edition of the single will contain three tracks in total and is priced at ¥1223. While the limited edition of the release will contain two tracks and will come with a bonus DVD for ¥1575.

VAMPS Holding Free Live on July 30th Being Aired Online for Free!!
Currently VAMPS are holding their tour all over Japan at the Zepp live houses in various places and their 2nd album "BEAST" will be released on July 28th. In celebration, on July 30th and open space special live has been announced.
This admission-free live is the world's first attempt, as it can be watched live on the three sites of SYNC MUSIC JAPAN, Yahoo Music Live and Nico Nico Namahoso simultaneously.
VAMPS will appeal strongly for Japan and the world for one night. Moreover, the airing will be archived for one week only at Gyao. Moreover, the live tour VAMPS are taking on for 2010 includes 50 performances, as they will be heading out on their world tour from October as well!
