"Hasribus On Van Der Sar" - Petikan Dari Facebook...
I've never fancied Edwin Van Der Sar. He sucks, big time. Overrated, at best he's just a mediocre goalkeeper. Let me tell u why....
a) He played for Juventus and lost his place to a certain 19 year oldcalled Gianluigi Buffon. Yeah, Buffon is probably the best goalkeeperin the world right now alongside Iker Casillas and Petr Cech, but VanDer Sar who was in his 20s at that time lost his place to a 19 yearold...
b) After spending time warming the bench at Juventus, Fulham signed himup. Fulham, the bloody sayur team. If he was soo good, then clubs likeInter, AC or Real Madrid would have rushed to sign him up. But no...allthe big clubs did not go for him and a sayur team went for him instead. What does it tell you?
c) How well did he perform at Fulham? Well, like I mentioned. Mediocreat best. A fantastic goalkeeper would be able to bring his team up to ahigher level. Keepers like Walter Zenga, Peter Schmeichel...very raretalents. But Van Der Sar? Well, it could have been any monkey crapbetween the post it wouldn't have been any different. And if he wasthat good, well, the big clubs would come knocking at Fulham's door.Did they? No they did not...
Then why did Man Utd bought him then?
When Schmeichel left, he left behind a very big hole between the post.Bosnich, Taibi, Barthez, Caroll, & Howard tried but failed. I'vealways felt that Sir Alex could have gave Bosnich more chances, andHoward too for that matter. But then again, Schmeichel left around thesame time with Bruce and Pallister axis...and the MU defence was a bigjoke until Vidic came and forged a fantastic partnership with Ferdinanda few seasons ago.
Playing behind Ferdinand and Vidic made VDS look good. Well, to behonest, the whole team got better overall and looking at it, the shotson goal by opponents against MU is not that great either. As far as Ican recall, when ever there is is 50-50 chance, the conversion rate forthe striker again Van Der Sar is more than 50%!
Yeah, he is pretty good in saving penalties and he saved a few penaltyshots in the CL Final against Chelsea last year. But apart from that, Istill think he's nothing great.
Sure, he hold's the clean sheet record now, but can anyone say thathe's better than Schmeichel? Schmeichel conceded 5 goals againstChelsea once...and 6 against Southampton in the very next game sometimein the late 90s....but does it make him a bad goalkeeper?
Van Der Sar best in the world? Better than Schmikes? Haha...don't be silly.

Let me add on...
When he played for Fulham
1) There was one time he even lost his starting lineup place to Maik Taylor
2) When Fulham played MU, did MU ever faced any difficulties in scoring?

Man U never had a good goal keeper... except Peter Schemechel(sp?)
Dinesh Roy at 9:02pm January 30
Schmikesis Schimikes VDS is VDS ..you'll have to remember they both played atdifferent times although VDS start playing at high (2 CL final)level ata very young age.And pls remember the premiere league then is so muchdiff then now...it is at its peak currently..Roque Santa Cruz atBlackburn?..Afonso Alves at Mid'brg..Drogba..Torres..R
obinho,Yakubu,Bent,RVP,Kuyt, plus many of the world class midfielder capable ofscoring fantastic goals...yea..these are players u stand better oddsagainst than Stan Collymore,Les Ferdinand,Fowler, heck u throw inShearer and he come tumbling 5-0 and still in shock and dazed that hecouldnt recover from next match(yea i remember that Southamptongame..Ostentad scored a hat-trick)
Last year 3 english teams made it to semis of CL..compare that to then...
Schmike'sa legend but Van Der is still playing top of his game at 38...If u askme..contrary to popular beliefs..he is in fact under-rated.
Dinesh Roy at 9:12pm January 30
it was Newcastle that beat them 5-0..not Chelsea...
Hasribus at 3:46am January 31
Yup Droy...u r correct...not chelsea, but newcastle blasted 5 goals then soton hit another 6 in 1996-1997 season.
Chelsea won 5-0 in 1999.
AnywayRoy, set aside the time factor and put Schmikes and VDS side by side,IMHO VDS is way behind. I really can't stand it when people singpraises about him...I mean, can anyone really point out any of hisworld class save that he made for MU? Notice the way he punches theball? Or how many times have we seen him win in a 50-50 situation?
Cech, Buffon, Kahn, Seaman, Buffon, Casillas and even Reina, Friedel, Jaaskelainen (the Bolton keeper), are great goalies.
But there are overrated goalies mistaken for being world class...classicexample is Barthez. Put a miserable set of defenders in front of themand then see their true colors. VDS is in this category.
Dinesh Roy at 2:15pm January 31
Imsorry ..but my view on a goalkeeper just doesnt fall on oneaspect...50-50 situation..i think u need to judge a good goalkeeperfrom many diff angle..like the ability to read a game and the anticipation of an opponents attack which is where VDS stands outcompared to all other keepers in the premiere league. And who are we tobelittle the ability to perform at intense situations?..his penaltysaves won us the chaity shield and CL..you may think its luck..i daresay its not...
I'm not saying he's the best keeper that ever livedbut ill definately won't put him behind the likes of Reina,Friedel,andJaskelainen..which of these won twice CL?...Schimkes good at 50-50 cozof his big body frame...VDS dont really have that advantage being thetall log that he is..but he makes up for it in other areas...to evenask us to point out any world class saves he made for MU or Holland orany club he played means u havent heard of a thing called YouTube ..goto search and type VDS..you'll be amazed

Youtube? What's that? Gosh that's new. Saw it though. Impressed? Well, mediocreat best. Amazed? Yeah,on how over rated this chap is. Nothing greatover all.
In the game of football, the goalkeeping aspect isprobably the least evolved position. Yeah, guys like Jorge Campos andRene Huguita tried to revolutionise it, but basically it's still thesame. More agile probably, but they do not change as much compared todefenders, midfielders and strikers today and the yesteryears.
Forthe defensive records, reading the games etc, I think Ferdinand andVidic are classy in this area. It makes VDS looks good. More often thannot, the ball is cleared before it reaches him anyway. So how is itthat he gets the credit?
Put 2 crappy centerbacks in front of him and see how well he "reads" the game. His record in Fulham shows.
I acknowledge his penalty saving skills. But my point is: Van Der Sar isterribly over rated for an average goalkeeper. Keywords: Average &Overrated. Period.

i'mglad that u get to see some videos, forgive me im not trying be snarkythere..but mediocore.?.c'mon..what did this guy ever did to u?..i haveto agree with my namesake above that there isnt much significant diffbtwn keepers these days..Buffon(seriously u seen how he play thesedays?) Casillas Cech..they all stand behind top class defenders aswell... where is Juve now?..Madrid? Ferdinand and Vida is definatelytop class and would make a legendary centre pair that ever playedEPL..but trust me..put Casillas Buffon and Cech behind the Cottagerscentrebacks..they wouldnt fair any better...seriously Football Manager2009 stats arent really reliable.if he really was that bad playingFulham why do u think MUFC got him anyway?...coz they're dunggusscout?..
halaaaaa pakjen..tdo awal bagun time subuh hitu hokey hapeeee...

Buoyed by Liverpool's 4-0 Champions League demolition of Real Madridat Anfield Rafa Benitez insisted the Reds can force their way back intothe Premier League title race with a win at Old Trafford on Saturday. PaulEllis/GettyImages
Joy for Liverpool as Real crumble
Inthe build up to Tuesday night's clash with Madrid Benitez suggestedLiverpool did not receive the respect they deserved for their Europeanexploits but after inflicting the heaviest Champions League defeat inReal's history the critics are silent.
A 5-0 aggregate winagainst the nine-times European champions claimed a place in thequarter-finals and also means the Reds are brimming with confidenceahead of this weekend's clash with Premier League leaders ManchesterUnited, who are seven points ahead of Liverpool.
"This is thebest way to approach the Manchester United game," said Benitez. "Whenyou have an important game coming up and the players are playing thiswell and scoring four goals against a team like Real Madrid, you haveto be pleased.
"We play a very good team on Saturday and we haveto win. If we can reduce the gap we will be in the title race but wehave to wait and see what happens at Old Trafford.
"Hopefully wehave given Manchester United something to think about but they have avery good team. At least we will approach the game with a lot ofconfidence." Steven Gerrard scored twice in his 100th European game for the club with Fernando Torres and Andrea Dossena completing the crushing victory.
And Benitez was able to hit back at the critics who have branded him a defensive coach, particularly in his Spanish homeland.
Hesaid: "Yes, I know people in Spain think that my teams do not attack, but look at this result and look at the 119 goals we scored lastseason. That says something different.
"We are ranked the numberone club in Europe by UEFA over the last five years and a result likethis against a great club like Real Madrid is very pleasing."
He added: "We played really well from beginning to the end, and I am really pleased for the fans.
"Why are we so good in Europe? I can only say that we approach European games with confidence and in the right way.
Real Madrid coach Juande Ramos was deflated by the crushing defeat.
He said: "We are very disappointed and it is sad that we are out and we areobviously not happy with the result.
"We conceded two early goals, and I had my doubts about both. There looked tobe a foul for the first and the penalty was not clear at all.
"But Liverpool were excellent and deserved to go through. They were too goodon the night, and there is no point in denying that they deserved to gothrough.
Ramos, on a short-term contract as manager of Real, was questioned over thelikelihood of that deal being extended after such a humiliation.
"ersonal issues will be discussed at the end of the season, they are not fornow as far as my future is concerned," he said.
"I cannot talk about the previous four years that Madrid have not progressedbeyond this stage, but we have not done so this season because Liverpool werebetter than us.
"We must concentrate on the league now, we must make a huge effort to catchBarcelona now to restore some pride to the season."
