Ayala demands Valencia exit

Roberto Ayala has told Valencia that he wants to leave the club as soon as possible.
The Argentine is contracted to Valencia until June 2007, but rumours of a move away from La Mestalla have continued to surface over recent months.His mind has now been made up after a heated discussion with club president Juan Soler.
Ayala claims that he held talks with Soler about a contract extension earlier in the year, but now the president has changed the terms of their agreement and offered him a worse deal.
"We had talked about the money conditions in May, but now the offer is inferior," he explained. "This is absolutely disrespectful to me and the best solution is for me to leave."
So far the only club to approach Valencia are Villarreal, but their offer of

Di Vaio joins Monaco on two-year deal

MONACO, Aug 2 (Reuters) - Italian striker Marco Di Vaio has joined Monaco from Valencia on a two-year deal, the Ligue 1 club announced on Wednesday.
The 30-year-old was loaned to the principality club by the Liga side last January.
The former Juventus forward, who was omitted from the Italian World Cup winning squad, has scored five goals from 15 appearances in Ligue 1. |

Valencia have reportedly offered Manchester United £17m plus Roberto Ayala for Cristiano Ronaldo. United are unlikely to accept the deal but the Spanish side are not convinced that Ronaldo wants to remain at Old Trafford.
The inclusion of Ayala in the deal is not expected to tempt the Red Devils but Manager Alex Ferguson is a long time admirer of the Argentine.
Ronaldo has not been selected as part of United's squad for the Amsterdam Tournament, which begins on Saturday. Instead he will stay behind in England along with Louis Saha and Mikael Silvestre and all three are expected to be part of a Manchester United XI that will travel to Oxford United on Tuesday.
If the Portuguese international plays it will be his first game on English soil since the World Cup. The winger has been widely criticised in the British media for his part in Wayne Rooney's sending off in England's quarter-final defeat to Portugal.
