Masakan Kelantan......yang sedap.....
Ok, that make me finished my paddle in the water real fast, I was already hungry just listening to her...
We reached early, about 12:15 as it gets rather packed by 1 pm. I walked in and was welcomed by this... So many dishes to choose from and so little stomach space .
So I left the mammoth task of choosing dishes on Diha's shoulder, she did grow up in Kelantan, just take your favourite dishes!
So we had some Gulai Kawah Themarbled beef chunks was cooked in coconut milk, ketumbar and kunyit.This was very delicious, the meat was tender and the sauce, rich andfragrant, goes well with rice.
Diha's favourite was Masak Daging Kerutup..Shetold me that this dish is rather hard to prepare as many tend to makethis dish taste bitter. The hard part in preparing this dish frying thespices before it's made into powder..over fried it and it's a bitterdish. Hatinie's version is lip smacking, the beef cuts were chunkierand firmer; the sauce was thick and tasted rich in spices. Reminds meof daging masak buah keras, a nyonya dish.
Some kerabu for those fibre that we so needed... This version is light, the vegetables were fresh and I like the fact that the shredded coconut does not over power this dish.
The ayam percik was beckoning me..SoI took a piece of it. The sauce was more on the sweet side, dense withcoconut milk and spices. The chicken; though I took a piece of chickenbreast; was juicy and tender and had a mild smokey flavour from thegrill. Pretty good actually.
Before I could say Stop! Diha took the keli bakar..
Shewas craving for keli..what to do..I rarely take cold ikan bakar(grilled fish) as I like mine hot from the grill. I was pleasantlysurprised that the keli was moist and had absorbed the marinationwonderfully. Though a tad cold, we cleaned this fish in a jiffy
Diha had 2 plates of rice due to her killer sauce concoction with ulam...Budu,with tempoyak (durian with lime and cili padi), more chili padi andlime. I love budu in my nasi kerabu, but this is too pungent for me(really, it's a matter of preference..hehe). Nonetheless, it was apleasure seeing Diha enjoying this so much.
We were so stuffed and Diha had to ask me about desserts...
Nah, shall give it a miss...
And I had to bite my tongue when I walked past all the kuih muih..
We had some lompat tikam..

It's DIY dessert..
So we get this...And we do this..
Thegreen kuih is bland while the rice is slightly savoury..mix with thecoconut cream and gula melaka, it's perfect. The combo is tasty,reminds me of seri muka (with sauce).
But my fave would be the pengat pisang..
Bananacooked in santan and gula melaka, this is ultra sweet, hence, do takeit in moderation. It's divine taking warm mouthfuls of it, and i lovethe silky smooth nangka slices in the pengat (which is not so common inpengat pisang)...

Ada satu kedai makanan Siam yang baru buka di TTDI Jaya .. very big, posh and cozy, along the concept of Serai yang Nanie pergi di Seksyen 2 tu.
Eiman Thai Food, namanya. Baru buka one week.
Before this the owner used to operate Siamese food stalls di food court di shopping complexes. I went there last week but unfortunately was told by the manager that on that particular night they were doing a doa selamat there, jemput orang-orang surau. But sempat jugalah menjenguk makanan yg disediakan ... tergoda

When it comes to food in Shah Alam, I'm often at a lost on what to eat unless I settle for Mamak food. Before we found [size=130%]Eat Work Shop,[size=130%] this place known as Big Plate was the default location whenever we wanted to eat a decent meal. The portions of the food served here is huge hence the reference to a big plate. There's also a copycat version of this place in Section 9, Shah Alam called Big Portion which we have heard about but not tried.

[size=130%]Like all western food places, this place serves fruit juices in huge glasses to quench your thirst. For their soups, they serve them in a bread bowl which reminds me of how they serve the famous clam chowder in San Francisco. It used to be a new thing in town but nowadays it's been copied by most of the cafes. The tricky part is drinking the soup and eating the bread together to make sure the bowl does not break apart.

[size=130%]Splashie Boy had the Chicken Piccata (RM19+) that is essential slices of chicken coated in a flour batter that is then pan fried. It's served on top of spaghetti with a creamy sauce and lots of vegetables. I love their side items they serve as it's pretty unique. For this dish, I always steal the Cauliflower Polonaise from his plate as I love the cauliflower served with a topping of hard boiled eggs and bread crumbs.

[size=130%]This place is great for salad lovers as they serve yummy salads versus the usual cucumber, tomato and lettuce combinations most places resort to. My Kambing Banting (RM20.50+) was so full of salad leaves, it made up for the fact I was eating cholestrol laden lamb shoulder. They also served potato salad and a piece of garlic bread. Besides these items, they have a few pasta dishes and interesting named dishes after places in Selangor like Ayam Shah Alam, Steak Kelang, Chicken Subang, Ikan Morib and etc.

Dah lama sebenarnya nak mkn sini tp tak berkesempatan..malas nak pergi jauh2 semata-mata nk mkn mlm kann..
Tp memandangkan cuti panjang sempena CNY..dan org sibuk nk belanja kita..so apa lagi..lets sajor la..
Sampai sana dh kul 8 lebih..eryna pulak dh tdo..rugi tul..org nak belanja dia tdo pulak..hehehe
Tempat ni sgt cosy compared to Big Plate..hiasan dalaman dia menarik..ala2 kampung english..hahaha!emm..lagi satu yg aku suka pasal ini kedai ialah muzik yg dialunkan..sgt romantik..ditambah lagi dgn sekuntum bunga rose putih di atas meja..lampu pun dipasang ala2 jek..
Org tu buat pizza depan mata sajok..
Uolls boleh pilih nak mkn kat luar atau dalam..kalau mkn kat luar leh nikmati suasana sikit sambil dgr titisan air dr fountain tew..aman jer rasa..
Masa aku dtg..tak ramai org lagik..tetiba bila makanan kitaorg dh sampai..ntah dr mn org dtg..ramai kemain..kebanyakkannya bwk family mkn2..maybe cuti CNY kot..masa ni lah nak bwk keluarga jln2 & mkn2..
