Jang Hyunseung, a member from the idol group BEAST, had revealed his greed for acting.
On the 17th, in a hotel restaurant located in Seoul Yeoido, the 6 members of BEAST met up with enews and discussed their thoughts about finishing their promotions for the first official album, ‘Fiction and Fact’ and plans for the future. During the interview, member Jang Hyunseung stated, “Recently I had become interested in acting,” revealing his transformation into an “acting-idol.”
Jang Hyunseung commented, “I was not triggered to take on acting by Yoon Doojoon, who had attempted acting through a sitcom. Even before debut I showed interests in acting. However, after debut, I had no time to even thinking about acting.” He added laughing, “Recently I developed this greed to take on acting, and I had even told my management about these thoughts on the 16th.
According to him, one of the reasons that made him suddenly interested in acting was through the MBC drama ‘The Greatest Love’ starring Cha Seungwon and Gong Hyojin.
Jang Hyunseung said, “’The Greatest Love’ was the first drama that all of BEAST watched together. I think this drama definitely played a role in making me interested in acting again. I want to play the role of a character that has no manners and is very 4D. For example, I would want to try a male character version of Anna Jo (Han Yeseul) from the MBC drama ‘Couple or Trouble’.”
Meanwhile BEAST will be ending their promotions for their first official album ‘Fiction and Fact’ on SBS ‘Inkigayo’ on the 19th. They had successfully won the Triple Crown on Mnet ‘M Countdown’ and KBS ‘Music Bank’ in addition to the high ranks on the music charts.
BEAST will be heading for Japan on the 20th and plans to promote their Japanese version of ‘Bad Girl’.
Yoon Doojoon, from BEAST, had shared his apologetic heart towards the members.
After Lee Kikwang who had appeared on the MBC sitcom ‘High Kick through the Roof’, Yoon Doojoon, who is acting on a sitcom, shared his honest thoughts on trying maintain the actor and singer schedule at the same time on the 17th..
Yoon Doojoon stated, “I am happy that this chance came to me and that I was able to experience many different things. If I get a chance to act again, I would want to take on that opportunity and try more serious things.”
However, due to Yoon Doojoon’s schedules for the filming of his recent sitcom, he was not able to join the rest of BEAST from the guerrilla performance in Japan. To that he commented, “I was really sad about that because I always want the six of us to stick together and I really feel sorry whenever I had to skip out on something because of my personal schedules.”
He added, “Acting is good, but my role as a singer would have to come first. And also, I want to focus more on my activities as a singer so that I would be able to continue performing on stage.”
Meanwhile, for BEAST who had conquered the music charts with ‘Fiction’ and ‘On Rainy Days’, they will conclude their first official album ‘Fiction and Fact’ promotions on the 19th with SBS ‘Inkigayo’.
In reference to the SM Town Live Concert held in Paris, France, BEAST had raised their thumbs up and stated, “that is really amazing and we are envious.”
BEAST had met up with reporters on the 17th and stated, “We think that it’s really amazing and great that stars from our country is having a concert overseas. We are really excited as well because we have a concert coming up overseas.”
This summer BEAST will be planning the Asia tour and will put their plans for Japan tour for use. They are currently receiving requests to perform in Europe and South America as well.
Yoon Doojoon stated, “We can’t feel how popular we are overseas. If we try best in all the opportunities given to us, I believe that we will receive a great opportunity as well.”
He also added, “We are very thankful for the hotly response we are receiving as we promote ‘Fiction’, such as the number of first places we been getting. Even though we are still far away from our greatest goal, we believe that the stereotype of idol groups can be broken when people watch our stages.”
Meanwhile, BEAST will be finishing their ‘Fiction’ promotions this week and will go into their promotions for this second Japanese single ‘Bad Girl’.

Idol group BEAST's leader Yoon Doojoon has revealed his own unique method of relieving stress.
On the afternoon of the 17th, Yoon Doojoon had met with enews in a hotel restaurant in Seoul's Yeouido. "When we're promoting and I feel stressed out, I feel better by playing soccer in underground parking lots," revealing a new way to relieve stress.
These days, as Yoon Doojoon has his first album promotions as well as filming for the MBC sitcom 'All My Love', he has the busiest schedule out of all the members, so he ends up being exhausted and stressed.
Yoon Doojoon then explained, "In the company basement I set up a makeshift mini goalpost and play soccer with the members and manager to relieve stress. I play a lot with Kikwang who belongs to the same celebrity soccer team and there are also a lot of times when I play with the rest of the members."
Also, he said that the BEAST members are crazy about MBC's Wed-Thurs 'Best Love' and they feel better while they watch it.
On the same day, he talked about his thoughts on how the BEAST members, including him, had finished with activities for the first full length album 'Fiction and Fact,' as well as future plans such as future Japanese promotions, their Asia Tour, and Japan Tour.

Yang Yoseob said “When we first arrived at the airport in Japan, there were exactly 5 fans” and “After seeing this I thought ‘All activities were done very secretively,’”
He said “Truthfully I vaguely trusted that ‘someone in the company must have secretly posted an announcement about this.’ And I felt even more nervous.” And “I was worried that, what if we couldn’t even get a response right before the performance.”
However, on this day at Shinjuku station, around 5000 people came to watch BEAST’s guerrilla concert and the performance ended successfully. As BEAST started singing “Bad Girl” the fans started singing along to the song, the place resembling a BEAST concert.
Yang Yoseob said “I only started to relax after I saw people gathering. I was so thankful to the Japanese fans who came to watch the sudden concert” and “I think I gained more confidence for the Japanese promotions and tour performances through this performance” he stated with energy.
Meanwhile, BEAST ends their promotions for their first official album “Fiction and Fact” on the 19th on SBS “Inkigayo”. They have achieved triple crown on both cable channel Mnet ‘M!Countdown’ and KBS ‘Music Bank’, and have received many positive reponses, placing high on many online mp3 charts during their promotion period.
They plan on going to Japan on the 20th to promote ‘Bad Girl’ on site and then move on to their Asia tour and Japan tour after.
BEAST Gi Kwang’s Short Height due to High Academic Pressure?
BEAST Lee Gi Kwang and his father appeared on a recent episode of SBS “Sweet Hometown Outing,” showing off his middle school transcript and explaining the true reason for his relatively short height.
Gi Kwang’s grade sheet was indeed impressive as he received nine “A”s out of 11 total classes. The two classes he got a “B” were in Korean and Science, but those scores were also in the high 80s, meaning he closely missed “A”s which is generally given to scores over 90.
With such outstanding academic records, Gi Kwang’s father said, “I tried to stop Gi Kwang from becoming a celebrity since he was such an exemplary student.”
However, his father also revealed Gi Kwang’s weakness saying, “Gi Kwang is 99.9% perfect, but he was a 0.1% weakness, and that’s his short height. It’s because he didn’t sleep in his teens (when you grow the most) because he had to study and train as a singer at the same time.”
He added, “When Gi Kwang first passed the JYP audition, he was an outstanding student. But I was just concerned that if he doesn’t succeed as a singer, it would become very difficult for him to find a job without proper education. So I made him work hard both on his studies and practices.”
Gi Kwang’s official height is listed at 170.5 cm, or roughly 5’7”. But based on his TV appearances and screen shots standing next to fellow celebrities with similar heights, he’s believed to be around 165 cm, or 5’5”.
