Wedded and divorced - in just 15 minutes

JOHOR BARU - A GROOM stunned his bride by divorcing her just 15 minutes after their marriage at Sungai Tiram, near Johor Baru, last Sunday.



Berita Harian Malaysia reported that the drama started after the 20-year-old man walked out of the bride's house soon after the solemnisation of the marriage ceremony at 10pm.

He was accompanied by an entourage of 15 men.

The man, who was not named, walked straight to a waiting car.

The frantic bride, Miss Siti Nor Hajjar Mohamad Yusoff, 21, rushed after him and pleaded with him to stay.

'I clung to the car but the driver just drove off. Luckily, my mother and another relative pulled me away. Otherwise, my feet would have been run over by the car,' she said.

She said that as the car moved away, the man cursed her. He also shouted three times that he was divorcing her.

Muslim men in Malaysia can say this if they want to divorce their Muslim wives.

Miss Siti Nor had earlier eloped with the man and they were married by an illegal syndicate in Kuantan. They have a one-year-old daughter.

She left her husband and returned to her family during the recent Ramadan fasting month to start life afresh.

She also found a job as a production operator.

'But my husband kept contacting me to say how much he missed me and our daughter and promised to marry me again,' she said.

His family went to her house on Dec 8 and it was agreed that the couple would get married again and have the marriage solemnised.

Her family has lodged a report at the Ulu Tiram police station against the man who broke his promise.

kadi yg tk register kot....cam kat thailand tu...agaknyer lah.

kat spore pun ade...bukan setakat kat thailand aje.  my hubby used 2 drive taxi.  1 of his passengers actually offered him "pakcik ni kadi.  kalau lain kali anak kepengen tukar selera makan ikan, contact lah."

illegal kadi - (i believe it'sroughly like dis) mereka yg telah mengikut syarat ugama dlm menikahkan pasangan pengantin, dan telah pun mengambil dan lulus ujian.  tapi jabatan agama/kerajaan di negara nya tak kasi dia license/permit to act.  so, dlm ikut hukum agama beliau boleh menjadi kadi, tapi tidak di dlm hukum negara.

prob - i noe about dis case...dis lady hubby dia kat dlm penjara.  she then sangkut ngan adik ipar dia sendiri.  ni pasangan yg i think takde asas didikan agama langsun, gi illegal kadi n dinikahkan.  bila some1 told her pernikahan dia tak sah coz dia masih bersuami (hak lelaki bernikah lebih dari satu tidak diberikan kepada wanita).  tapi dis woman jawap balik..."kadi kata sah ape".  of course lah. coz dia tak terus-terang pasal marital status dia kat orang tua tu.  dia buat kadi tu tanggung dosa lak.

JOHOR BAHRU - 'Saya tidak pernah melafazkan cerai talak tiga terhadap isteri saya.'

Itulah pengakuan suami Cik Siti Nor Hajjar Mohamad Yusoff ketika mengulas dakwaan keluarga isterinya bahawa beliau melafazkan cerai talak tiga selang 15 minit akad nikah pada malam Sabtu lalu.

Menurut Encik Mohd Syawal Ezam Esa, 20 tahun, beliau hanya ingin pulang ke rumah ibunya kerana enggan meneruskan acara naik pelamin pada malam berinai.

'Sebelum ini, saya dan isteri bersetuju tidak mahu bersanding pada malam berinai. Kami hanya mahu bersanding pada hari persandingan yang dijadualkan Ahad lalu.

'Ketika itu (selepas bernikah), semuanya berjalan lancar dan kami terus meminta kebenaran pulang dan mendapat persetujuan bapa isteri saya, Mohamad Yusoff Ayim, dan terus ke kereta.

'Bagaimanapun, apabila tiba di kereta, tiba-tiba keadaan bertukar menjadi tegang hingga ada suara yang mengatakan saya menjerit melafazkan cerai talak tiga, selain menyuruh penduduk kampung mengepung kenderaan kami,' katanya.

Sementara itu, Cik Siti, yang merupakan bekas penyanyi kumpulan My Girlfriends, dengan sebak menitiskan air mata sambil berkata:

'Ini maruah saya. Hati saya sedih, kecewa dengan tindakannya yang menceraikan saya bukan dengan talak satu,tetapi tiga sekali gus di khalayak ramai dalam majlis itu.

'Saya dengar beliau berteriak dari luar melafazkan cerai walaupun ketika itu, saya sudah berada di dalam bilik.
