Congratulations go out to Chelsea after they ensured the Premier League title will go right to the wire with a 2-1 victory over Manchester United at Stamford Bridge yesterday.
But is the result a help or a hindrance to Liverpool?
The Reds travel to London on Wednesday night for the Champions League semi final second leg, but while Avram Grant was unable to rest his star players, confidence must now be sky high in the Blues camp.
Rafael Benitez was able to leave out Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Fernando Torres, Xabi Alonso, Javier Mascherano, Ryan Babel, Dirk Kuyt and Alvaro Arbeloa - all players who will expect to be in the starting XI come kick off in the battle to get to Moscow.
Those players should, in theory, be fresher for it, but the adreneline rush provided by the victory over United and the chance of revenge against Liverpool may be enough to counter any cases of fatigue. |
