“TV Asahi Dream Festival 2011″ to feature diverse line-up of artists
TV Asahi’s major concert event of the year, ‘TV Asahi Dream Festival 2011‘ will be held from September 23rd to the 25th at Tokyo’s Nippon Budokan.
Much like the station’s popular music program ‘Music Station‘, this year’s event promises a fantastic line-up of artists. Performing on September 23rd will be L’Arc-en-Ciel, Ikimono Gakari, Kuraki Mai, TOKIO, and Unicorn. September 24th will feature Tokyo Jihen, Kato Miliyah, the third-generation J Soul Brothers, Perfume, and RIP SLYME, and September 25th will feature B’z, 9mm Parabellum Bullet, GLAY, CHATMONCHY, Pornograffiti, and ONE OK ROCK. More artists will be added to the September 23 and 24 line-ups as well. Each day of the concert will begin at 3pm, with doors opening at 2pm.
Beginning July 9th, tickets can be pre-ordered on the festival’s official website (Japanese only). Tickets will go on sale to the general public on August 20. A three-day pass for the show will cost 9000 yen (~$111).

L'Arc en Ciel to Play MSG

Rock band L'Arc en Ciel announced yesterday the first details of their upcoming world tour. It will be the band's second such overseas venture, the last being in 2007. This time around they will start off in Hong Kong on March 3 and travel to seven countries and regions. In addition to shows scheduled for Bangkok, London and New York, they have received offers to visit Russia, Brazil and Chile. They will become the first Japanese artists to perform solo at the "mecca" of live venues in the U.S., Madison Square Garden. Fellow rockers X Japan have previously been scheduled to perform at the venue but those plans fell through. L'Arc last performed in the U.S. at an event in Baltimore in 2004.
The four-member L'Arc are currently celebrating their 20th anniversary year with a tour of five cities nationwide. They first mentioned plans for a world tour during the May show at the Ajinomoto Stadium in Tokyo.

L’Arc~en~Ciel reveals 2012 world tour schedule

Rock band L'Arc~en~Ciel announced a partial schedule for their 2012 world tour. So far, 7 dates have been announced, including a stop at the famous Madison Square Garden in New York.
This will make L’Arc~en~Ciel the first Japanese artist to hold a concert at Madison Square Garden on their own. X Japan previously scheduled a concert there as part of their 2008 world tour, but that tour had to be canceled due to Yoshiki’s health.
So far, the schedule of L’Arc~en~Ciel’s world tour is:
March 3, 2012 – Hong Kong – Asia World Expo Arena
March 7, 2012 – Bangkok, Thailand – Impact Arena
March 10, 2012 – Shanghai, China – Mercedes-Benz Arena
March 17, 2012 – Taipei, Taiwan – TWTC Nangang Exhibition Hall
March 23, 2012 – New York, United States – Madison Square Garden
April 11, 2012 – London, England – indig02
April 14, 2012 – Paris, France – Le Zenith
More dates may be announced in the future.
