Schumacher to make F1 return
Ferrari have confirmedseven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher will make a sensationalreturn to Formula One to stand in for Felipe Massa for the rest of theseason.
German driving legend Schumacher still works for Ferrari as anadvisor, but after Massa's shocking injury in Hungary he will now getback behind the wheel once again.
Schumacher has some time to prepare as the F1 season takes asummer break, but he should once again line up on the grid at theEuropean Grand Prix in Valencia on August 23.
"Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro intends to put Michael Schumacher inFelipe Massa's car until the Brazilian driver will be able to raceagain," Ferrari confirmed in a statement.
"Michael Schumacher said he is ready and, over the next fewdays, will undertake a specific training programme at the end of whichconfirmation will be given of his participation in the championshipwith effect from the European Grand Prix on the 23rd of August."
Schumacher admits loyalty played a big part in his decision to return.
"The most important thing first: thanks God, all news concerningFelipe are positive. I wish him all the best again," Schumacher said.
"I was meeting this afternoon with Stefano Domenicali and Lucadi Montezemolo and together we decided that I will prepare myself totake the place of Felipe.
"Though it is true that the chapter Formula 1 has been closedfor me since long and completely, it is also true that for loyaltyreasons to the team I cannot ignore that unfortunate situation. But asthe competitor I am, I also very much look forward to facing thischallenge."

Shocking : Schumacher To Replace Massa !!!!

As if to underline that nothing is ever predictable in Formula One, Ferrari announced Wednesday evening that Michael Schumacher is to stand in for the injured Felipe Massa at the forthcoming Grand Prix in Valencia and beyond.
With Massa out of action due to the injuries sustained in qualification for the Hungarian Grand Prix and making a strong recovery, the rumour mill had been rife with speculation as to who would take over the F60 cockpit alongside Kimi Raikkonen as the Brazilian recuperates.
Indeed, no less than 13 drivers had been linked with the drive amongst reports that the 40-year old seven-time champion was not interested in resurrecting his career with the Italian champions.
“We have said before that it is possible that Michael Schumacher could return to help us out,” head of communications Luca Colajanni said ahead of the official announcement.
Schumacher last competed in the sport in 2006 where he finished second to Fernando Alonso in the standings, having secured no less than seven victories to add to his tally of 91 wins.

A controversial figure despite his massive success in Formula One, Schumacher will be the centre of attention later this month as the series regroups following the summer break.

Hamilton looking forward to competing against Schumacher
Lewis Hamilton has said it will be an honour and a privilege to raceagainst seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher. The current F1title holder clinched his first victory of the season in Hungary lastweekend although the European Grand Prix will mark the first time theduo have competed against each other.
With Schumacher having departed F1 at the end of 2006 and Hamiltonmaking his debut the following season, F1 fans missed out on the chanceto see the pairing lock horns on the track although all is set tochange on the penultimate weekend of August. The British driver hasnever made a secret of the fact that he is a big fan of Schumacher andwould love to race against the German. "He is one of the sport'sgreatest competitors, a legend - it'd be great to compete against him,"said the McLaren driver. "The whole world will be watching his returnto the cockpit in Valencia.
"It will not only be fascinating tosee how he readies himself for his Grand Prix comeback but also anhonour and a privilege to race against him for the very first time. Iwish him well." Schumacher will remain in the Ferrari team for the restof the 2009 season unless the recovering Felipe Massa becomes fitenough to race.
