Ajax striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar claims Manchester United are 'very interested' in signing him.

  

The 24-year-old's failure to agree a new contract at the Amsterdam ArenA has led to speculation he could be in line for a move, and the Holland frontman reckons the English champions are keen to acquire his services.


'I know certain English clubs are following me, like Manchester United, who are very interested in me,' he told Dutch reporters.


'I love clubs with great history like Ajax, I also love Manchester United.


'It's a club that makes me dream, especially as Ruud van Nistelrooy played there and did great things with them.

Andrei Arshavin's agent insists his client is in no rush to find another club, and believes his eventual destination may depend on the outcome of some of the summer's other transfer sagas.

  

The Zenit St Petersburg playmaker was one of the stars of Euro 2008 with Russia, sparking speculation he was set for a move to one of Europe's top leagues following the tournament.


Zenit coach Dick Advocaat revealed he had given the 27-year-old leave to decide on his future, with reports in the Russian press suggesting he is set to to travel to London in the coming days to hold talks with Premier League duo Arsenal and Chelsea.


Barcelona are also said to be interested in Arshavin, who has described a move to the Nou Camp as a 'dream'.


But agent Dennis Lachter revealed there is no hurry for his player to find a new club.


'The push for Andrei Arshavin has only just got going,' he told Spanish newspaper El Mundo Deportivo.


'The summer transfer window doesn't close until August 31 and the clubs who are following him are only just warming up their engines.'


Lachter went on to reveal that 'Arshavin's future depends on what happens with (Arsenal duo Alexander) Hleb and (Emmanuel) Adebayor, as well as (Manchester United winger) Cristiano Ronaldo'.


Arshavin admirers Barca are believed to be keen on signing both Hleb and Adebayor, meaning they may be out of the running for the Russian should they sign either one or both of the Arsenal players.


Should Hleb and/or Adebayor leave north London, that would appear to put the Gunners in a strong position to land the Zenit playmaker.


Perhaps the most confusing matter is the inclusion in the equation of Ronaldo, who is currently being courted by Real Madrid.


Arshavin's situation may be become clearer next week after Barcelona economic vice-president Ferran Soriano promised fans on Friday that 'next week there will be news on Arshavin, Hleb, and Adebayor'.

Brazil boss Carlos Dunga believes Ronaldinho will play for AC Milan next season as that is the player's wish.



Milan have pursued Ronaldinho this summer after Barcelona announced they were open to offers for the Brazil playmaker, and Premier League side Manchester City are also keen.


The Italian side's interest in the 28-year-old seems to have cooled of late, as the club have turned their attention to Arsenal's Emmanuel Adebayor and claimed they were unable to pay Ronaldinho's wages.


However, Milan vice president Adriano Galliani today revealed the Barca forward had rejected an offer to join City, and now Dunga believes the Rossoneri are in pole position to land the player.


'Ronaldinho wants to go to Milan,' the Brazil coach told Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.


'And it is the players who determine transfers. The Rossonero club has all the good cards in their hand.'


Questions have been raised of Ronaldinho's fitness after he appeared to have gained weight while recovering from a thigh injury in Brazil last month.


But Dunga believes reports of health problems are widely exaggerated, and that Ronaldinho will be fit in time for this summer's Olympics.


'The stories are exaggerated. Ronaldinho is only a few kilos overweight,' Dunga continued.


'He'll slim down quickly and he will be a star of the Olympics.'
