Jung Yong Hwa Takes on “Heirs” with Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hye

CNBlue leader, vocalist and guitarist Jung Yong Hwa puts on his acting hat once again. According to reports in local news agencies, the band member is set to take on a role in the new drama “Heirs,” which has previously announced other cast members Lee Min Ho andPark Shin Hye.

Local news agencies quoted an announcement from Jung Yong Hwa’s management agency, FNC Entertainment that confirmed his participation in the drama.

“Heirs” will be the first time the idol is working in a drama with Lee Min Ho, and the third time with Park Shin Hye, who had been his co-star in his past dramas “You’re Beautiful” and “Heartstrings.”

The forthcoming SBS drama is attracting early buzz for its behind-the-scenes team. It is written by scenarist Kim Eun Sook of “Lovers in Paris,” “Secret Garden” and “A Gentleman’s Dignity.” Kang Shin Hyo of “Tazza” and“Midas” directs.

“Heirs” is slated for broadcast in the second half of the year.

Jung Yong Hwa Withdraws from “Heirs”

CNBlue leader, vocalist and guitarist Jung Yong Hwa is no longer taking on a role in the new SBS drama “Heirs.”According to reports in local news agencies, his management, FNC Entertainment has respectfully pulled him out of the drama, which has already announced Lee Min Ho and Park Shin Hyein starring roles.

The statement from FNC Entertainment said, “Jung Yong Hwa examined his role and we have not reached an agreement with the production company on the role he is going to play. Because of this, we respect his decision to withdraw from the drama amicably.” It was earlier announced that he would join the cast for the drama that is slated to air in October.

FNC Entertainment is further quoted as saying, “Jung Yong Hwa will continue to be dedicated to his music activities, including the ongoing ‘Blue Moon World Tour’ that has scheduled stops for the latter half of the year. Should another offer come and the opportunity is good, he will take the chance to act again.”

Early buzz surrounds “Heirs” not only for its cast but its production team. The writer, Kim Eun Sook was the scenarist of popular dramas “Lovers in Paris,” “Secret Garden” and most recently, “A Gentleman’s Dignity.” DirectorKang Shin Hyo of “Tazza” and “Midas” takes the helm.

Meanwhile, Jung Yong Hwa and the rest of CNBlue are set to perform in Bangkok and Hong Kong in May for the “Blue Moon World Tour.”

After a long-period of waiting for fans, it has finally been announced that Choi Jin Hyuk is confirmed to be in the upcoming SBS drama, “Heirs.”

Choi Jin Hyuk, who has recently won over many fans with his charismatic and sexy role in the MBC drama “Gu Family Book,” will be playing the role of Lee Min Ho‘s half-brother, Kim Won. Kim Won is a president of a large company, who has both good looks and skills. A source related to the drama stated, “Choi Jin Hyuk will win over female hearts with a mature and sexy charm that is different from the teenagers in the drama.”

It is being reported that writer Kim Eun Sook actively sought to cast Choi Jin Hyuk in the drama after watching “Gu Family Book.”

“Heirs” will be written by Kim Eun Sook, who also penned “Secret Garden” and “A Gentleman’s Dignity.” It will center around the love and friendship of high school students from the top 1% of society. Park Shin Hye and Lee Min Ho will play the leading roles and Kim Woo Bin has also been confirmed for the drama.

“Heirs” is set to air later this year on SBS.
