AirAsia passengers among 56 held in India for allegedly smuggling gold bars

[size=0.813em]

NEW DELHI: Forty-five AirAsia passengers were among 56 people detained by Indian authorities in Andhra Pradesh for allegedly smuggling 62kg of gold bars worth 17 crore rupees (about RM10mil), the Times of India reports.
It is not immediately clear whether Malaysians were among those arrested.
The newspaper said that acting on a tip-off, officials of the Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) of Chennai, in a special operation on Sunday night, travelled to the Visakhapatnam International Airport and carried out thorough checks on two flights from Kuala Lumpur and one from Singapore.
The officers initially checked 20 passengers of an AirAsia flight who were carrying a lot of electronic items, and found gold bars concealed inside the items, the daily reported.

A check on 10 passengers of a Silk Air flight from Singapore also found gold bars in contained in electronic goods.
A check on 25 AirAsia passengers on a second flight from Kuala Lumpur also revealed smuggled gold bars.
According to the daily, many of those arrested were frequent travellers and most of them were acting as couriers.
“They indulge in such business for monetary considerations. Depending upon the quantity, the couriers would get paid,” it quoted the DRI authorities as saying.
The couriers would always look for new avenues and new destinations, officials said.
Another possibility is that new flights would have been introduced between Visakhapatnam and Southeast Asian destinations or the frequency of flights between the two destinations could have been increased, added the officials.
So, it could have attracted the couriers to switch over to the new destination, away from their home, they said. – Bernama

ok tadi akak pergi ar-rahnu.depa caj hari ni emas 999 rm 133 per gram.so akak dapat 70 peratus pinjam duit ar-rahnu.upah simpan rm 32. sebulan.utk 6 bulan.masa akak beli seminggu puasa rm 175 emas 999.barang kemas tu akak cagarkan n ambik cash n beli tambah koleksi baru hari ni.tapi kedai emas tu cakap tak boleh ikut harga rm 133 tu.harga yg dia bagi rm 170 se gram emas 999.upah lain.so kiranya kalau nak beli, pakai ok lah.kalau nak untung jangka pendek macam tak untung.tapi akak ni suka beli barang kemas bertukar ganti n suka trade in.baik akak cagarkan emas yg ada nak tambah koleksi baru dari trade in.kedai emas caj akak rm 10 percent susut nilai kalau trade in.rugi .so baik beli nak simpan buat show n pakai n boleh rolling nak meniaga kalau esok nak pakai duit urgent.

so bila emas naik katalah akan datang boleh dapat rm 220 segram.so untungnya dalam rm 30 segram.tapi orang yg suka simpan emas n pakai emas ni sebab duit paling mudah nak buat bisnes.boleh cagar n cepat dapat duit.baru ni adik akak pergi ar-rahnu nak pakai duit urgent.dia bawak semua koleksi peribadi emas dia.dia kumpul sejak kahwin.so dapat lah kat ar-rahnu dlm rm 50k.so masa kecemasan kalau pinjam kat sedara payah.ar-rahnu kawan setia n dalam masa 24 jam boleh dapat duit.dia kata dia suka simpan emas sebab duit paling mudah nak dicairkan n tak banyak songeh banding pinjaman peribadi.untung kat situ.satu malaysia terima emas.bayangkan dia simpan emas beli n pakai sejak kahwin.bila emergency emas dia tu boleh dapat kat ar-rahnu rm 50k tak samapi berapa jam.kalau tak siapa nak bagi dia pinjam duit.

tokey kedai emas akak yg akak biasa beli ni sejak tahun 90 an.dia kata ramai pelanggan dia beli emas di kuala pilah jual n trade in kat dia .dia tak kasi harga tinggi nak trade in sebab bila dicairkan /leburkan emas tu tak berapa cantik.ini pengalaman sedara dia yg beli emas murah di kuala pilah yg terkenal tu.dia kata sedara tu tertarik harga murah.dia beli barang kemas nak dekat sekilo/memang murah.tapi masa di trade in nak upgrade design lain.dia leburkan.emas tu qualitynya tak beraspa bagus.so akak tadi tertarik jugak nak beli kat kuala pilah sebab murah.tapi kenagkan tak biasa tak berani.emas akak pergi ar -rahnu kalau emas 999.ar-rahnu cek tak pernah kena rejek.memang tulin n sama nilai dari segi bverat n quality.so far tak pernah di rejek lagi di ar-rahnu kalau nak cagar..

emas investment paling teruk sebab spread dia tinggi 10 to 15%

maksubnya anda kena overcome kos spread dia sebelum boleh untung apa2

Emas sentiasa dijadikan medan pertempuran antara China vs International banker, bukan
saja issue demand vs supply, more than that

so akak cadangkan kalau ada duit extra nak melaram dari beli accesori ok lah beli emas.dari beli corning ware, tudung paritdag beratus ringgit baik beli emas.ini bandingkan dari membazir beli kosmetik mahal, shopping kain mahal, tudung mahal.baik beli emas.di samping nak melaram ada jugak harganya masa kecemasan.lagi satu dlm islam memang digalakkan orang pompuan memakai emas perhiasan.jadi para suami digalakkan membeliakn barang emas perhiasan sebagai tanda kasih sayang kat isteri..

akak ni memang ahli keluarga ipar duai kaki beli barang kemas.tambah lak kahwin belah pantai timur .memang sesuatu yg pelik kalau tak de emas.so beli lah kat kedai yg kita biasa pergi n selesa dgn layanannya.akak suka pergi kedai cap ayam milik melayu sebab caj upah murah n trade in dia ambik 10 percent susut nilai.akak dulu suka beli zhulian.habis beribu-ribu beli koleksi zhulian.tapi orang yg biasa pakai emas 999.tiba-tiba down grade ke zhulian perasaan tu lain macam.mungkin akak punya keluarga keturunan pencinta emas 999.so bila akk pakai zhulian depa kutuk.kalau tak mampu beli emas tak yahlah lah pakai palsun punya.terus akak buang zhulian tu.banyak jugak habis beribu jugak pakai zhulian.

auntie pulak suka "kepelbagaian" @ diversity.

Emas tu beli lah bila ada extra cash, pinggan-mangkuk pun belilah jugak sbb emas tak boleh buat tempat bancuh air kecuali teko emas. Tudung paridah mmg tak beli tapi tudung2 cap ayam yg lain beli jer sbb emas tak boleh nak tutup rambut kecuali beli tudung benang emas.

Lagipun sekarang sgt merbahaya pakai emas2 ni, byk sgt penyangak2/penyamun/pencuri yg memerhatikan jer. Bukan setakat peratikan jer, mencuri/menyamun/merompak/mencopet semua sekali harung.... Last2 safe deposit box (SDB) yang pakai emas tu, rasa mcm tak berbaloi jer... Nak keluarkan emas drp SDB pun kena berhati2. Hari tu, auntie dinasihatkan oleh pekerja Bank utk terus ke kereta atau pulang terus ke rumah sbb ada kes samun depan Bank.

Mystery of the great gold sell-off

Five tonnes of gold were dumped on the Shanghai exchange yesterday, pushing the price to its lowest since 2010. Has this safe haven had its day? Russell Lynch reports

By RUSSELL LYNCH
Tuesday 21 July 2015

For gold bugs – those investors bullish on the precious metal – the commodity’s key attraction has always been as a store of wealth. Fiat currencies may swirl on the seas of international money markets, but the old adage goes: an ounce of gold once bought a Roman soldier a fine suit of armour, in Shakespeare’s time it paid for a doublet and hose, and today it would get you an Armani suit.

That comfortable certainty was shaken by the precipitous fall in the gold price this week, which slumped more than 4 per cent in a matter of minutes in a mini “flash-crash” in China. As soon as Shanghai’s gold exchange opened, around five tonnes of the precious metal was dumped on to the market by a mystery seller, pushing the price as low as $1,088.05 an ounce – its weakest since March 2010.

That’s little more than half the all-time high of $1,923 seen in September 2011 in the most brutal phase of the eurozone’s debt crisis, when it seemed that the very existence of the single currency was at stake and investors ran for cover to the traditional safe haven. The volumes traded in Shanghai were more than a hundred times the usual amount, at a time when markets in the West were closed.

According to experts, the huge trade sent the price crashing through “stop loss” barriers put in place by investors to protect themselves against price falls, triggering yet more automatic sell-offs.
Ross Norman, chief executive of gold broker Sharps Pixley, said a large fund or investor looking to bet against the gold price – selling off the metal to drive the price down and then buying it back as a profit – was most likely to be behind the fall. “Clearly it was somebody who was extremely keen to trade the market short,” he said.

“If you wanted to get out you would do it when your buyers are there and not when there is extremely low liquidity.”
The timing – a Japanese holiday – also meant the market was even thinner than usual. Another possibility is that a major investor hit by the recent calamitous plunge in the Chinese shares cooked up a plot to regain losses elsewhere in equity markets, or indeed was forced to sell the gold to meet margin calls on underwater equity positions.
