Zenit Invite Arsenal To Conclude Andrei Arshavin Deal
Andrei Arshavin may finally be on his way to Arsenal.

Andrei Arshavin’s potential move from Zenit St Petersburg to Arsenal has appeared to move a step closer after the Russian club revealed they have invited Arsenal officials to the club to discuss the move.

The clubs have been in talks about the player with Arsenal reportedly having had a bid rejected, but the deal looks to still be on and may now be concluded next week.

“Zenit have invited Arsenal officials to St Petersburg next Tuesday," Alexei Petrov, a Zenit spokesman, told The Guardian, “This is to show that Zenit do want to find an option which will be acceptable for everyone.”

Zenit are thought to be holding out for €13.3 million (£12 million) for the striker who shot to fame during Euro 2008, with Arsenal’s initial bid believed to fall short at €11.1 million (£10 million).

Meanwhile, manager Arsene Wenger has given his backing to striker Emmanuel Adebayor who is struggling to replicate last season’s goalscoring form.

“What is important is that he works hard and contributes to the team,” the Arsenal boss said, “If he opens the way for the other players for me it is the same.”

Arsenal travel to Hull City later today hoping to banish the memory of their shock defeat to the Tigers at the Emirates back in September.

Phil Brown’s newly-promoted side stunned the Gunners 2-1 and Wenger revealed that he had been taken by surprise by Hull. He explained: “I feel that on the day we were just not cautious enough. We were a bit too cavalier. It was a big blow to us because if we’d won that game, we would have been top. They were a complete surprise package.”

Milan To Buy Adebayor, Essien, Clichy & Alex With Kaka Cash - Report
The Rossoneri could raid both Arsenal and Chelsea with the money they would make from Kaka's possible sale to City...

With Silvio Berlusconi conceding he could be forced to sell Kaka to Manchester City, Milan are already planning to blow the money on four Premier League based players.

La Gazzetta Dello Sport claims that the Rossoneri will raid both Arsenal and Chelsea with the money they receive for Kaka in an attempt to strengthen all areas.

The €100 million income will be divided between both London clubs in order to strip them of some of their most valuable assets. The big rumble involves Arsenal, as the Rossoneri will offer €35m for Emmanuel Adebayor and a further €15m for Gael Clichy. Both players have been long-time targets of coach Carlo Ancelotti and €50m for the pair could be enough to convince Arsene Wenger to let them leave.

Milan have a good relationship with the Gunners after last year's business involving Mathieu Flamini and Philippe Senderos.

The other €50m will go to Chelsea, with €35m being slapped in front of Roman Abramovich for Michael Essien. The Ghana international is on the way back from injury and could be heading straight for the San Siro, rather than a return to Stamford Bridge. Alex, unconvincing for the Blues thus far, will also be a €15m target.

Before Milan raid, of course, Milan will need to ensure that the money from Eastlands for Kaka comes though. The very latest reports suggest that Kaka will sign for City on Monday, but is expected to play for Milan later today when they clash with Fiorentina.
