kebetulan aku ader satu masalah masa install linux mlm tadi.
alkisahnya, lepas aku install, dia ader mintak password ngan user name yg aku crete masa install. bila dah masuk ngan password dia kuar comand camni - winamp05@ubuntu~$:
dia suh aku taip aper ntah aku pun tak tau. penin memikir sampai la aku buka xp balik dan tanya korang yg pakar kat sini. harap korang dapat le nolong den. kemaruk nak guna linux nih. |

aku try tak best .... try yg 64-bit ...
screen jadik besar ... tak tau nak adjust ..macam mana ...
senang pakai Linspire lagi .... |

ko install gui mode ke server?? kalau server.. 1st sekali kalau nak install program lain ko kena masuk sebagai super user (root).. ko taip je..
"sudo passwd root"
masukkan password user
masukkan password root yg baru
lepas tu
"su"
masukkan password root yg ko buat tu....
kalau nak install just taip "apt-get install apache2 php5 mysql5"

Aku kembali menggunakan Debian, currently using Debian Testing aka Lenny, AMD64 version. Memang best!

Aku pakai Puppy Linux kat notebook. Semua driver jalan dengan perfect. Pantas giler. Laju. Aku dah bosan pakai Windows. Asyik kena virus dan spyware. Bila pasang antivirus dan firewall, jadi berat pulak. Naik bosan dah aku. |

ni distro yg aku rekeman utk korang
beginner - simply mepis @ sabayon linux (everthing dah ader semua driver n retricted codec dah include tak yah install kemuidan)
intermediate (mcm aku) - ubuntu+kubuntu (genome+KDE) -byk support n documentation n very aktif forum
expert - fedora @ suse @ slackware
server - cent OS
live CD - knoppix

Aku lagi suka pakai centOS.. sebab dia free utk Enterprise Class...  . Aku ada 3 biji server... 1 CentOS, 1 Fedora, 1 Redhat Enterprise 4. Sekarang aku run JBOSS + JVM setting... aku tengok prefomance; CentOS & Redhat ok... Fedora tak berapa... utk jenis linux yg lain tu tak sure laa... Aku juga pernah test pakai Windows 2003 Server... Data prosessing mula-mula je ok... lepas tu.. Hang... Jadi moral off the story, LINUX paling bagus utk SERVER. |

if you haven't tried solaris, hpux, aix, etc., then you can't say linux is the best for server. conclusion needs to be based on at least 95% of server os flavor available, instead of just 2-3. also, it needs to be based on overall performance, not just 2-3 tasks.

i know you loveeeee linux. nobody forces you to do what you don't want to do. on the same sentence, don't be so arrogant and look down on other people interest. you need to broaden your whole horizon and understand people.
wiki doesn't tell the whole story. not all IT folks tell their stories on wiki. but, if you want to believe it, it's your choice. if you think linux has the most share in computer world, good for you.
for me and based on what i know and observation, lots of companies still have lots of windows server. yes, linux is gaining attention now and may be in the future will take over windows as main os, as long as they remain open source (otherwise, they will become like sun/solaris). but for now, i still see windows as first choice for most companies.
by the way, why don't you put the link here so that everybody can see what you're talking about.
