A ah memang le tak sure deaf...sbb hom bkn org Tutong...

kat Brunei ni ada 4 daerah taw...Brunei/Muara, Belait, Tutong & Temburong.

Bandar Seri Begawan (BSB) capital city letaknya kat daerah Brunei/Muara tu...

Oil town..Seria letaknya kat daerah Belait...

Tutong ni lak in between Brunei/Muara & Belait...so kalo nak g Belait kena pass thru Tutong

Temburong lak terkenal ngan the "green jewel" sbb hutan hijau yg masih menten blom kena explore...

kat Temburong ni ada Outward Bound...Askar Spore ramai yg g training kat sini pong...

buleh dan inda buleh :)

Do's and Don't's
Bruneians are generally very tolerant and will understand that visitors are not familiar with all of their customs and Islamic traditions. Nonetheless, keeping these few things in mind will go far in showing the Bruneian people that you respect and appreciate their culture, enriching your experience:

•

Tourists should observe the local dress code and dress modestly. Clothing comfortable for hot weather is acceptable, except when visiting places of worship or for social and business functions.

• Bruneians shake hands by lightly touching the hands and then bringing the hand to the chest. Some people do not to shake hands with members of the opposite sex.

• You should not point with your finger; instead, use the thumb of your right hand with the four fingers folded beneath it.

• When visiting a mosque, all visitors should remove their shoes. Women should cover their heads and not have their knees or arms exposed. You should not pass in front of a person in prayer or touch the Koran.

• Gifts (particularly food) should only be passed with the right hand, although it is acceptable to use the left hand to support the right wrist.

• It is polite to accept even just a little food and drink when offered. When refusing anything offered, it is polite to touch the plate lightly with the right hand.

• During the Islamic fasting month of Ramadan, Muslims do not take food from sunrise to sundown. It would be inconsiderate to eat or drink in their presence during this period.

• In deference to the Muslim majority, alcohol is not sold in Brunei, but private consumption by non-Muslims is allowed. Non-Muslim tourists are allowed a generous duty-free allowance of 2 bottles of alcohol (wine, spirits, etc) and 12 cans of beer per entry, and may consume alcohol with sensible discretion in hotels and some restaurants.

belait / seria

Outside the capital, in the oil-producing heartland of Seria, the Oil and Gas Discovery Centre (OGDC) symbolises the long-term commitment of Brunei Shell Petroleum Company Sdn Bhd (BSP) towards sustainable development of Brunei Darussalam and its people. The OGDC has emerged as another popular family-oriented landmark in Brunei that serves both educational and recreational purposes.

OGDC introduces visitors to the fascinating world of science and engineering as it applies to the petroleum industry in order to promote environmental awareness and highlight the necessity of nature conservation. It is a fun place where visitors of all ages can expand their knowledge while exploring the seven galleries that showcase over 100 interactive exhibits covering the multi-faceted science behind the oil and gas industry in Brunei.

As a science-based interactive centre, OGDC caters to the diverse interests of both young and old (and all ages in between), creating a fun and educational environment for a family outing.

These attractions, along with all of Brunei抯 many natural sights, including rainforest parks, beaches, islands and mangroves can be enjoyed by the entire family and ensure that you抣l never find a dull moment in your holiday to Brunei!

Malay Cultures
Brunei's culture mainly derived from the Old Malay World, a territory which covered the Malay Archipelago. Brunei抯 culture is therefore deeply rooted in its Malay origins, which are reflected in the nation抯 language, architecture, ceremonies, and customs governing daily life. Though various foreign civilisations have played a role in forming Brunei抯 rich history, the traditions of the Old Malay World have left an indelible mark on the culture of modern Brunei.

Today, Bruneians are predominantly Malay, though significant Chinese, Indian and indigenous Bornean populations add to the cultural makeup of Brunei. Brunei抯 blend of cultures, customs, beliefs and customs is therefore very similar to that of Malaysia. The nation抯 official language is Malay, but English is widely spoken by most of the population, and most signs in the country are written in Roman script.

If Malay traditions are Brunei抯 cultural root, then Islam is its heart. The nation抯 Malay Islamic Monarchy is a uniquely Bruneian blend combining the best of Malay culture with the teachings of Islam and a mutual respect between ruler and subjects. This national philosophy is aimed at forging a stronger sense of identity as well as fostering unity and stability, and it forms the backbone of Bruneian cultural identity. While Brunei is indeed a devoutly Muslim country, the national philosophy is one of respectful tolerance, allowing for the practice of other religions and beliefs.

deaf escape dari NS ekkk...tunggu giliran le...:nyorok:

tak kan sampai nak pengsan kot...kat hutan tu bkn tak dpt kuar pong...sesekali rasanya ada hari rehat..bleh le g soping kat Bandar...

soklan deaf tu...pasal commuting ekkk...BSB > Belait or vice versa...skrg ni dah tak de masalah pong...

Kerajaan Brunei dah sediakan highway...so possiblity for people commuting to/from work for that distance roughly 100km to and another 100km from work tu memang bnyk...skrg pong ramai graduates yg keje kat Oil town, Seria tu...keje ngan BLNG (Brunei LNG) kat Lumut, Seria and kat BSP (Brunei Shell Petroleum)..housing memang ada disediakan leh Kerajaan utk Govt servants...even BSP pong ada housing sendirik...

terpulang le ngan depa nak commute ke (which will take at least 1.5 hours to reach destination) or nak stay kat housing yg disediakan...
