Koeman Says Little At Valencia Presentation
Ronald Koeman did not have much to say as he was introduced as the new coach of Valencia, but received high praise from the club's president.
The Dutchman has put-to-paper on a deal that will keep him at Mestalla until 2010 after he agreed to take over following Quique S醤chez Flores' sacking earlier this week.
"My arrival here, along with my family, has been very positive," Koeman said.
"I have come here with a strong desire and with so many words in my head, I will pick out just two: Amunt Valencia."
President Juan Soler spelt out why Valencia had looked to acquire the former FC Barcelona star's services and revealed that he knew what was expected of him.
"It is an important day for everyone connected with the club, one that we have wanted and outlined as part of our project," the club supremo said.
"We wanted to bring in a prestigious international coach that, as a player, won so many titles and, as a coach, has won titles in Holland and Portugal.
"Koeman is a football person and we are convinced that the club is in very good hands.
"He knows the ambition of the club, he knows the squad and everything that is required of him." |
