Luis Suarez Statement
The Reds currently sit in fifth spot in the Barclays Premier League table, six points behind leaders Manchester United after just seven matches.
Suarez, who has been Liverpool's star performer so far this term, admits winning the title is now difficult because of the gap between the Reds and rivals like United, Manchester City and Chelsea.
"We have no limit and want to stay in the top four. But winning the Premier League is now very difficult," Suarez said.
"The main reason why it is so difficult is because the two Manchesters and Chelsea are unreachable. But we can win the cups."
Suarez, who inherited the famous No.7 shirt at Anfield, revealed he was not aware of the significance of the shirt, but is happy to follow in the footsteps of the likes of Kevin Keegan and Kenny Dalglish.
"I didn't know the history of my No.7 shirt at Liverpool," added Suarez. "I picked it because it was one of the few numbers available.
"Now that I know the story I am proud to wear the '7' and I try not to feel the burden of its heritage." |

abg besar ckp ni: Carragher

The Uruguayan has been a revelation since joining Liverpool, proving himself to be a hit with both fans and teammates alike.
Carragher has been delighted by the No.7's overall impact and reckons he has shown just how good he is; day in, day out at Melwood.
Carragher said: "Sometimes you think you are signing a great player and you have different opinions about them.
"But it is only when you train with them every day that you know their strengths and weaknesses. I know there are great players in the league; Aguero has started well, so has Rooney, but I can honestly say I wouldn't swap him for anyone. I think he is fantastic."
Liverpool head into the international break sitting in fifth place after taking 13 points from seven matches.
Carragher remains clear on the club's overall objective this season but feels it is too early to have definitive targets.
He said: "At the start of the season you have the idea of winning the league but in the last few years we've finished sixth and seventh.
"For us to get into the top four we'll be pleased with that this season. But if it gets to Christmas and we are only three points behind Manchester United or Manchester City, we are going to say we want to win the league.
"I always change my opinion of what I want us to do, considering where we are. At this moment people are saying we are in a race with Spurs and Arsenal because we are a little bit away from City and Manchester United.
"But if we can catch them up over the next month or so (who knows). We play Manchester United next, so if we can get three points there, and then against City and Chelsea - you can change your opinion."
A league title remains the one winners medal on Carragher's to-do list.
He admits he would love to help the Reds top the Barclays Premier League at some point in the future but insists he would not swap the 2005 Champions League success for anything.
"I think the European Cup is the biggest thing you can win as a club player," he said. "It was a special European Cup final. It was something people will remember for a long time. I certainly wouldn't swap that." |

Fergie wary of Anfield threat
United will mark their return to Premier League action after the international break with a trip to face the team they deposed as England's most successful club in May, when they clinched a record 19th league title.
The Reds have proved difficult opponents to overcome on home turf in recent seasons, with Dirk Kuytbagging a hat-trick in last term's corresponding Premier League fixture.
Reigning champions and current leaders United are without a win at Anfield since December 2007, having suffered three consecutive defeats to their fierce rivals on Merseyside.
Manager Ferguson believes the pressure of the occasion has got to his players in the past, something he is keen to avoid when United make the short journey to Anfield on the 15th October.
"We have been poor there of late," said Ferguson. "On a couple of occasions we have been out-fought by them, which is disappointing.
"The atmosphere plays a part. Every time we go there it is as if it's the biggest game of the century." |

Oh Carroll
Carroll, 22, has found himself in the spotlight recently after struggling for goals at the start of the Barclays Premier League season and following comments by England coach Fabio Capello about his lifestyle.
However, Shearer believes his fellow Geordie - who netted his first league goal of the campaign in Saturday's derby win over Everton before heading off to international duty - will come good, and feels he is in the right hands under Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish.
Former England captain Shearer, who played under Dalglish at Blackburn and also briefly managed Carroll at Newcastle, told several national newspapers: "Andy is a young and inexperienced lad with a lot of pressure on him but he will come good.
"Yes, there will be times when people question him but he's at the right club. At Anfield, he's got a great manager who understands the trials and tribulations of being a young footballer.
"When I moved to Blackburn, I had great guidance there and that was Kenny. Kenny will protect him and look after him as he did me at Blackburn. He did that in a fantastic way.
"Once he settles down, starts to play well and score, you will see the fearsome centre forward that we saw at Newcastle and you'll see the reason why Kenny paid £35million for him.
"Andy is talented. He is a nightmare for defenders to play against if given the right service and if he is fit enough."
Shearer also feels Carroll can shine for England, with whom the 6ft 4in striker has netted once in three appearances so far.
"I do see him as an England centre-forward. One hundred per cent. Wayne Rooney will always be number one. Andy can be his partner and he will be. I definitely look at Andy with England as a long-term thing," said Shearer.
Regarding Capello's comments about Carroll's lifestyle, the 41-year-old Shearer added: "I was slightly surprised he came out and said that.
"If that were me, I wouldn't have been happy. He (Capello) had his own reasons. I've been brought up with managers who tried to keep things in-house. |

Amaran Downing buat United

Hansen: He's the signing of 2011
_of_suarez.jpg)
The Reds legend has been hugely impressed by the way the Uruguay star has adapted to life on Merseyside, identifying him as a player most opposition fans would love to have in their line-up.
Hansen told LFC Magazine: "Luis Suarez was outstanding against Everton and for me, he has to be the best signing any club has made in the last 12 months.
"No matter who the opposition is, he always has an influence on the game. He's a brilliant player and I've lost count of the number of times I've heard supporters from other clubs saying 'I wish we'd signed him.'
"Liverpool are so lucky to have him because in my opinion he's going to become - if he isn't already - an international superstar."
Hansen is clearly delighted with Suarez, but it's not just the No.7 who has caught his eye in the Reds attack.
The Scot points to a whole host of options now at Kenny Dalglish's disposal and feels it all bodes well for the rest of the campaign.
"With Andy Carroll scoring, Dirk Kuyt playing well and Craig Bellamy doing what he does best when he came on, we have plenty of options because each player has totally different attributes," he said.
"Liverpool definitely can't be accused of being predictable in terms of what team might be selected. We've got height, pace and trickery. As a defender that makes you nervous.
"Options is what we have been missing for a long, long time. Now, Liverpool has a squad rather than a team.
"Steven Gerrard and Bellamy had a real impact when Kenny made the double substitution and that's what big time football is all about: replacing quality with quality." |
