A: I have no particular thoughts about that. At home you don't feel the effect, but in the Phillipines, Singapore (roddy: i think should be Thailand), as soon as you are seen it's a very different reception from our own country. I can't imagine what Bei Yong Jun goes through. Even though Hallyu is weakening, it's still a good thing.
Qn 8: Is an actor's life hard?
A: It has its ups and downs. But it was after filming drama "the Land of Wine" that I asked myself: "Is this the best I can do?", what else could I do to progress, to get everyone's approval. Before doing "My girl" I was prone to thinking like this, frequently very sel-critical: I worked so hard, but why is it still not good enough? But "My Girl" changed this.
Q: What's your worst fault?
A: What do you think?! I'm a little blunt / rough, my staff have to deal with this. This could surprise some people into thinking: "Yahh, how can he be like this?!" But once they get to know me, they gradually understand that that's just part of my personality / behaviour.
Qn 10: You don't look like you have any worries?
A: Of course I do. [roddy: He starts listing them, ] I gain weight easily - If I don't watch out, I'll easily get fat! I think my face is too big. I want to be taller - if i could grow another 3 cms to 187cm would be good (roddy: whaaa??). My body isn't that good . I get stressed out during filming; worrying too much. I also want to sing better, but I can't. Still... I'm better than Hyun Young! (smiling). Many of my friends are great singers. I get a lot of chances to sing with them, but when I start singing they all stop! [roddy: Here he mentions Kim Tae Woo saying something to him, but I can't figure out what it is. Jo: heyyelpp!]. But when we taped the OST for SR, compared to Hyun Young, everybody finally agreed I could sing well (laughing). |

Qn 11: So what do you do when you're not working?
A: I'm pretty lazy when I'm not working. Of course if I'm lazy when i'm working, it'd be unacceptable; after all this (points at his own face) is my name card, also my asset (roddy: yeah, to us too ). When I have some unexpected time off to be at home for 3-4 days, I sometimes don't even get around to washing my hair. My mom will tell me: you're too scruffy and she won't eat with me (laughing). On the other hand, I do have people who take care of me. When I stayed with my manager, if I haven't showered, he'll take me back home and make sure I have time for one. This is probably why I don't have a gurlfren, because I don't feel like seeing anyone (when he's not working).
Qn 12: Some time ago there was this story of you and Lee DaHae holding hands. Many people want to know what was that about.
A: It was only a camera glitch that caused the misunderstanding. I only found out about it when they told me about the rumours. We went to a fashion show and were photographed / filmed by [?]. While walking out together our hands bumped by accident, and they filmed that! Privately I'm actually close friends with Lee DaHae, and this was misunderstood. I heard that the picture had 500,000 hits on the web. Lee DaHae is really popular! (laughs). I didn't think that a one in a million second instant could be caught (roddy: meaning the camera glitch?).
Q: When it comes to Lee Da Hae, we will think of My Girl right away. Accordingly when playing couples/lovers, the feeling of "being in love" is very important, how would you go about this (during filming)?
A: I am able to maintain this kind of feeling when we're(with his partner) filming the series together. But if my partner is a professional and good actress, it might help me in the process of cultivating this kind of feeling (feeling of being in love). |
