Ameblo's Blog of the Year 2010: Osamu Mukai, Atsuko Maeda

Blogging service Ameblo has announced its Blog of the Year 2010 awards, chosen through an online survey conducted between December 17 and December 20. The winner in the male category was actor Osamu Mukai (28), while the winner in the female category was AKB48 member Atsuko Maeda (19).
Mukai became tremendously popular this year thanks to his role in the drama series "Gegege no Nyoubou," as well as parts in high-profile movies like "BECK" and the upcoming "Paradise Kiss."
Maeda has been popular as one of the top members of AKB48, and her starring role in the drama series "Q10" also drew a lot of attention to her blog.
Ameblo also announced the top 10 rising blogs of 2010, and Maeda was #1 on that list as well. Fellow AKB48 members Yuko Oshima, Rino Sashihara, and Tomomi Itano also made the rankings, as did Morning Musume's Reina Tanaka and actress Riisa Naka.

AKB48 opened official profile page on Myspace to communicate with the world ! ~Merry Christmas To The World From AKB48 ~

In preparation to become active overseas, a popular idol group AKB48 is opening their profile page on Myspace in order to reach out to the fans around the world and send out their information.
Myspace Japan KK (Shibuya, Tokyo) which manages the music entertainment SNS “Myspace” in Japan, in cooperation of Sync Music Japan, a project organized by Japan Association of Music Enterprises (JAME), Music Publishers Association of Japan (MPAJ), and the Federation of Music Producers Japan (FMPJ) in order to expand Japanese music market to a global scale, will introduce AKB48’s official profile page to the whole world today.
On AKB48’s official page, their newest songs are available for sampling and their newest information will be regularly updated in English as they are eager to communicate with the overseas fans.
AKB48's Rino Sashihara gets her own TV show

AKB48 member Rino Sashihara (18) will have her own variety show on TBS, it has been learned. Titled "Sashiko no Kuseni ~Kono Bangumi wa AKB to wa Mattaku Kankei Arimasen~," it will air in a 30-minute time slot late at night (1:25am) on Tuesdays, starting on January 11.
As a group, AKB48 has had several television shows, including "AKBINGO!" and "Shukan AKB." However, this show will be led by Sashihara alone.
Talento Teruyuki Tsuchida (38) will serve as the emcee, while Sashihara attempts various challenges under Tsuchida's orders. AKB48's Atsuko Maeda (19) will be a guest on the first episode.
AKB48’s Takahashi Minami reflects on “Kohaku”, then and now
NHK’s year-end show, “Kohaku Uta Gassen“, is almost here and the lineup for 2010 boasts a cast list of epic proportions, particularly for AKB48 member, Takahashi Minami.
“Rehearsal for us was like a scene from a disaster area“, grinned Takahashi. “The combined number of members, including cameos from SKE48 and NMB48, exceeded the total of 100!”  This year, the AKB48 family has grown tremendously in size with the additions of the groups, SKE48 and NMB48.
AKB48 first performed on “Kohaku” back in 2007, though their fame hadn’t quite kicked off yet. The girls performed “Aitakatta“, but unfortunately, they received more attention on their parts as back-up dancers for Enka legend, Godai Natsuko.
“It was an honor to dance behind Godai Natsuko-san as she sang, but at the same time, we didn’t really get a chance to be seen, which was kind of regretful.  We owe many thanks to everyone for cheering us on, and for allowing us to come back on stage.  We’re going to do our best to show everyone a cool AKB48 this year.”
“Kohaku Uta Gassen” will air via live TV on December 31st from 7:30PM to 11:45PM.
