tu dah kira tahap kronik agaknya, deaf. Bila i compare my father dengan diaorang ni nasib baik my father tak teruk sangat. actually i pun tak sure if my father is suffering from the same thing, maybe baruuuuu jer nak mula so agaknya very very vry mild.
My dad dah start pelupa...kalau mandi tengahari on lampu, kata tak nampak, nanti masuk toilet tengah malam tak bukak pulak. kekadang after mandi tengahari dia dok lepak kat kedai kopi bawah, when my mom ke i balik rumah lepas keje nampak lampu toilet terbukak..kira lah berapa jam tu..no wonder my mom selalu bising bill naik..kalau bukak air pun gitu....dah berapa kali lupa nak tutup..air menderu deru keluor...sampai baldi overflow..
tapi yang paling menyeramkan happened quite some time ago la..dia panaskan minyak nak goreng ikan balik...sementara tunggu minyak panas he went to his room, tau2 tertidur..bila tersadar tengok minyak dah panas & berasap, but still dia masukkan ikan (yang dah digoreng - nak panaskan aje), apa lagi api menjulang naik kena my cabinet! And this happened bila nobody at home, semua pegi keje. Bila balik keje my mom prasan kenapa pintu kabinet atas aku hitam legam? Ceiling sumer hitam? Bila tanya he confessed what happened. My mom punyalah mengucap panjang...lepas tu bising dengan my dad cakap kenapa bukak api lepas tu masuk balik tidur bla bla bla...rumah terbakar tak kisah tapi nyawa kalau hilang cam mana bla bla bla...my dad diam aje..
ada jugaklah minor incidents involving stove yang happened jugak...panaskan sup sampai kering...panaskan sambal sampai hitam...ni semua make me very worried tinggalkan dia sorang2 at home...but what to do?
thats why eh sekarang me very observant and try to tengok if he's displaying anymore symptoms...you all kalau ada parents berumur like my dad better to observe sikit sebanyak...apa2 boleh terjadi.. |

lolipop, tahap kronik lagik susah nak imagine...
sampai kena kunci pesakit dalam satu bilik pasal pesakit dah tak tahu kontrol "bowel movement" - buang air sebarangan. Sedih wa cakap lu, tapi apa bleh buat, ni semua cobaan tuhan.:cry::cry:
kalo pelupa tu aku pun selalu,
lupa mana taruk kunci rumah, panaskan lauk terus baca sokkabar sampai lupa,
lupa padam lampu pun selalu hehehe...
tapi kalo yang pasal kat dapur tu cam ko cakap, aku tahu la, api gas menyala punya kuat, kuali sampai hitam berasap hehehe...tapi member kat bilik relaks... tapi mungkin tu lupa biasa je, tapi kalo rumah ko kabinet kayu tu dekat sangat, ah tu bahaya tu...
tapi mostly , lagi kita tua, kita makin pelupa la, especially kalo sapa2 kerja stress, banyak fikiran...
tapi tak semestinya alzeimer...
ooo dan lagi satu, aku pernah dengar ada orang cakap, kalo ada spare time, banyak baca quran... pasal, baca quran ni kasi ingatan kita kuat... |
|
|
|
|
|
|
|
tu lah deaf...that's why I said tak tau my dad ni ada disease ke apa ke...tapi to me it's satu penyakit jugak lah..kalau dah sampai boleh membahayakan diri sendiri.. |

Why did he do this to me?
Doused with petrol, friend then sets him alight - over girlfriend joke
By Joycelyn Wong
HE was an active boy who had his bicycle modified so he could perform stunts.
But he now has another set of wheels - a wheelchair.
A horrific act of cruelty changed everything.
Angry keloids now run across Tim's chest and arms, a reminder of a joke that went horribly wrong.
Tim (not his real name) was 13 when a friend poured petrol on him and set him alight on Christmas Day last year.
He tried rolling on the ground to put out the flames. The people he called friends just stood and watched.
It was so painful, he passed out. Until today, has no recollection of what happened the next two weeks. He woke up in a hospital bed.
The teenager who attacked him was a friend.
Soh Jia Wen was only 15 then, but was charged as an adult when he turned 16.
Tim cannot be identified under the law as he is under 16.
Over the last five years, several teenagers have been hauled to court for acts of cruelty. (See next report.)
Psychiatrists said that teenagers are at a vulnerable age and tend to be impulsive.
But that doesn't mean much to Tim.
He used to hang out with Soh after school. Around 10pm on Dec 25, they met up at a park in Sengkang.
Tim approached Soh's former girlfriend, put his hand on her shoulder and joked that she was his girlfriend.
Soh told him not to disturb her. But Tim approached the girl again and continued to tease her.
A quarrel then broke out and Tim kicked Soh on his leg.
Soh did not retaliate at first. But later that night, he took a bottle of petrol from a friend's motorised bicycle and splashed its contents on the boy.
He then used a lighter to set Tim alight.
Tim tried rolling on the ground, while Soh and the rest of the group stood around, watching him struggle.
They fled after one of them called an ambulance.
Tim told The New Paper in Mandarin: 'I didn't mean what I said. I was just fooling around.'
Today, he is a shadow of the active teenager he once was.
He suffered third-degree burns to his face, chest and limbs.
He went through several skin graft operations and spent 42 days in hospital.
Tim will require medical treatment for the next two years and the scars will stay with him for the rest of his life.
His flesh is raw in some parts and his skin cracks easily, causing him to bleed.
Tim's hands can be raised only to his chest at an awkward angle because he cannot fully extend them.
'I don't even know when I'll fully recover so I'm just taking one day at a time,' he said.
'There's no point thinking about the things I miss doing because there's nothing I can do about it.'
He has to wear a pressure garment so that his muscles do not contract.
Tim's elder brother quit his job as a salesman to take him to hospital for physiotherapy six days a week.
He has an older sister who is still in school.
The family survives on his mother's pay of less than $2,000.
MEDICAL BILLS TO PAY
They still owe about $10,000 on medical bills. In all, they chalked up a bill of $100,000 but most of it was covered by government subsidies.
The teenager now spends his time at home watching television and surfing the Internet.
He avoids going out because of the stares he gets from passers-by.
He was so affected by the way he looks that he initially refused to be photographed.
Even when he relented he would only allow one picture to be taken.
There were times when he bumped into friends when he went out. But they could not recognise him, his mother said.
'I used to love shopping and I would always buy clothes whenever I go out. But there's no point buying them now,' said Tim.
'Nothing looks nice on me any more, so why waste the money?'
Tim's mother, who is in the sales line, said he has become withdrawn and keeps to himself.
'We dote on him even more because of what he is going through. He's still a child and it's not easy for him,' said his mother, who is in her 40s.
'He doesn't really understand why it happened. Sometimes he asks me, 'Why did he (Soh) do this to me?' '
The things which Tim loves are now kept in the storeroom at home, including his modified bicycle.
'I would go cycling so often that I kept my bicycle next to the front door. Now, it's somewhere in the storeroom,' said Tim. Now, Tim can walk only short distances and uses a wheelchair when he goes out.
These are just some of the changes he has to adapt to. A shower now takes half an hour instead of 10 minutes.
'I have to make sure the water and soap do not come into contact with my injuries,' he said.
'It hurts a lot if I'm not careful.'
Tim has also been missing his lessons.
His school is a mere 10-minute walk away. He should have been in Secondary 2 this year.
'I've gone to school twice but I couldn't catch up,' he said.
'The classroom is quite hot during the day and I perspire easily. The perspiration makes the wounds itch and I end up scratching myself all the time.'
He cannot remember much of the incident that left him with burns on 35 per cent of his body.
'All I recall is him (Soh) throwing petrol at my chest,' said Tim.
'I don't remember how I felt or what happened after. I think it's just as well that I don't remember.'

Attacker's sad family life
DURING counselling sessions with a psychologist, Soh Jia Wen was asked to make three wishes.
He replied that he had only one wish - that his family could have dinner together just once a week.
To him, home was just a place where he went to sleep.
In court, his lawyer, Mr Pritam Singh Gill, painted a picture of a teenager who turned to bad company after failing to find acceptance at home.
Soh had been fostered out to his mother's sister till he was 10 years old. His father would visit him once a month. He said he did not remember his mother showing up.
Soh returned to live with his parents when he was in Primary 5. But he could not adjust to the new environment.
His parents, both hawkers, had marital problems and were seldom at home. He also did not get along with his two elder brothers.
LONELY AND DEJECTED
Soh's grades began deteriorating. A year later, he failed his PSLE and was sent to the Normal (Technical) stream.
Lonely and dejected, he turned to his friends.
He got involved in a string of offences, including theft, rioting and abetting a friend to pose as a police officer.
Some of these offences were committed when Soh was out on bail after setting Tim on fire.
District Judge F G Remedios jailed him for six years, saying that the serious offences called for a punitive sentence.
Referring to cases in which children have shown violent and aggressive behaviour, child psychiatrists said this is usually caused by a combination of factors.
Dr Daniel Fung, deputy chief of the department of child and adolescent psychiatry at the Institute of Mental Health, said one of the risk factors is a poor relationship between the child and his family.
'Teenagers are easily influenced by their peers. If they cannot find acceptance in their family, they will turn to their friends, who they feel understand them better,' said Dr Fung.
'Some of them engage in bullying or aggressive behaviour because they feel a sense of power over their helpless victims.'
Those who have been exposed to violence in the family might also think that such behaviour is acceptable, said Dr Brian Yeo, a child psychiatrist.
'They might not think of the consequences or fully appreciate how serious their actions were,' he said.

OTHER CRUEL ACTS BY TEENS
Jul 29, 2003: Three teenagers, aged between 13 and 15, molested a 13-year-old girl at a swimming pool.
They held down her legs, simulated a sex act and groped her.
All three were charged and put on probation.
On Nov 12, 2002: A group of 10, aged 14 to 20, tortured a friend, 18, for more than three hours.
They punched, kicked and burnt her with cigarettes after accusing her of stealing $50.
One of them took off the victim's blouse and bra, and they laughed as she stood there crying.
Two of them, Izmariani Abdul Rahman, 16, and Normalinah Jamali, 17, were sent to a Reformative Training Centre.
From Dec 15, 1999 to Jan 2, 2000: A 14-year-old girl was locked up and tortured by seven friends aged 11 to 18.
They assaulted her with sticks and scalded her with cups of boiling water.
They made her stick a marker and a doll's leg into her private parts, and perform oral sex on a dog.
They were jailed for two to 7 1/2 years, except for the youngest, who was sent to Toa Payoh Girls' Home. |
