Fate is a very prominent concept in Korean drama and we all know how good it is in making things happen without the need for a logical path leading to them. "Master - God of Noodles" has used fate in plausible ways, but episode seven crosses some limits I wish it hadn't. Fate-coated writing hiccups aside, the episode gives us some juicy revelations, new players for our backstabbing chessboard, plenty of suspense and material for the future.

The revelation of Gil-do (Jo Jae-hyeon) as Da-hae's (Gong Seung-yeon) father offers an interesting contrast to Myeong's (Cheon Jeong-myeon) life and it reveals a weakness in our villain. I am not sure if Do-kkoo (Jo Hee-bong) is Tae-ha's (Lee Sang-yeob) father, but that will be another interesting and plausible family pairing. After all, both men sacrifice a lot for those they feel indebted to and we know Do-kkoo had a baby in his life once. Both pairings hold good potential and perils.

Now that Congressman So Tae-seop (Kim Byeong-gi) has formed a power-duo with Choi (Eom Hyo-seob), we get to see just how low Gil-do is in the political food chain. On one hand, his potential feelings for his offspring and his defeat by bigger players make Gil-do less terrifying, which should not happen. On the other, they can be used to make him even more dangerous in the future. I am hoping against the soapy twist where fatherly emotions get the better of a man who clearly places no importance in other people.

Worry-fueled guesses about the future aside, this episode marks the first time I feel the series has gone too far with its "coincidences". I can look past a lot of the established and potential connections, because most characters here actively enter one another's social circles. Location can explain a few, too. For example, I can believe Gil-yong (Kim Jae-young) ends up in Doo-cheol's company because he went through many loan shark offices in Seoul.

Other connections push beyond the limits to which I can suspend my disbelief. Gil-yong happening to be a replacement driver for a known character is kind of pushing it. I am hoping it will at least be significant in some way further down the road. Everyone being preoccupied (or well, stabbed) on Tae-ha's release day is quite the coincidence too. It is all very dramatic, but it could have been written better.

There are so many great things about "Master - God of Noodles" right now. Tae-ha's release is a very powerful scene and the possibility of him becoming Myeong's enemy is rich in dramatic potential. Do-kkoo and Da-hae are a great pair. There is so much to love. I just hope the writer will work on the logic of the plot more.

tak sangka rupanya ayah Tae Ha tu yg bunuh ayah Chae Kyung
so Tae Ha sanggup ganti dia utk jadi pembunuh...
tp rasanya ayah Tae Ha tu bunuh pun atas arahan org lain..
dan juga rasanya ada kaitan dgn Kim Gil Do...

he has to watch his parents die in the fire. Poor Mumyeong is raised in an orphanage afterwards and erases his name in order to hide his real identity. Like that, he becomes 'Mumyeong', which means 'no name' in Korean. As Mumyeong knows that Kim Gildo is the one who killed his parents, he spends the restof his life getting back at him. Getting prepared to make a revenge, Mumyeong happens to become like a monster, like Kim Gildo.

Kim Gildo is more than a noodle chef. He is a celebrity who can be seen on the screen everywhere. Kim Gildo is, however, a two-faced person. He is highly respected by many people but his real face is the opposite. He is a 'monster'. Still, Kim Gildo has a huge influence and power. Could Mumyeong win against him? What would happen to Kim Gildo in the end?

Yeogyeong is raised in an orphanage when she is young, same as Mumyeong. Back then, she is not treated properly by the school teachers. Not only does she always have to starve, but the place where she sleeps is too cold and old. However, she grows up to be a strong woman. She takes care of other young children in the orphanage. One day, she discovers corruption which is hidden deep in the orphanage. As the director of the orphanage notices this, she tries to stop Yeogyeong by force. To survive, Yeogyeong writhes herself and ends up killing the director. For Yeogyeong who is panicking, Taeha decides to cover up her crime. He tells her to become a prosecutor and solve this case for both him and her. This is how she becomes a prosecutor

Park Taeha is raised by a drug addicted father. His father kills Yeogyeong's parents on the street. He sees Yeogyeong on the TV news for the first time. At that time, her eyes are filled with anger and resentment, which he thinks is their similarity. Taeha struggles with deciding whether to fight against Kim Gildo or to become like one

YK. The classy prosecutor. She's still in the dark.  If she has interactions with  KGD.. it might be through the congressman with whom  KGD wants to meet (through MM). The brief encounter she had with KGD early episodes ep 2-3. It was good scenes.  He was scary.  Oh then it's probably where she will also finally get to see MM. What's the congressman up to.. with her. Be careful.

Still.. this drama is also where you'll see The art of making noodles.it's so aesthetic. Visually salivating.
