Reject the politics of hatred, advises Dr M

MUKAH: The politics of hatred brought in by the peninsula-based opposition parties should not be allowed to grow because it will do more harm than good to Sarawak and its people, says former Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
He said he trusted that Sarawakians going to vote today would vote wisely and not make any decisions in anger because it would be a wrong decision.
Dr Mahathir said: “I am sure you will vote for the Barisan Nasional. I am confident that the Barisan can administer and bring further development to the country in an atmosphere of peace and harmony.
“The Barisan is a people’s coalition and it has the mechanism to allow the representation of the voices of all Malaysians, unlike some parties which only champion one particular group.”
When asked by the media whether his reason for visiting Sarawak was because he felt he could defuse the tension brought about by the politics of hatred sown in this election, he said: “Yes that is part of the objective of my visit here.”
Asked about the winds of change hitting Sarawak’s shores which could swing the votes for the Opposition to form the government, Dr Mahathir said: “Yes the winds of change are blowing. But the winds of change are not necessarily for a change in government but for more development because of the faith of the people in the (current) government.”
“It is the winds of change but for the Barisan and not the Opposition.”
On pressure mounting against Balingian candidate and Chief Minister Tan Sri Abdul Taib Mahmud to step down and name his successor, Dr Mahathir said: “I was also under pressure before. I am quite sure he knows what to do.’’

kalau PRN ni betul2 bersih aku jamin PR akan menang...tapi sbb SPR pun dah jadi parti komponen BN..berdasarkan history2 sblm ni mcm2 benda 'luar biasa' yg berlaku untuk menangkan BN..x tau nak berharap mcmn...cuba mampu berdoalah perancangan Allah lagi 'gempak' dari perancangan puak2 BN tuu..(amiiinnn)..huhu
dah ada kes kerani SPR kasi risalah BN selepas dafter mengundi, kerani SPR kasi 2 kertas undi kpd seorang pengundi. Seorang kerani SPR di SMK Kuala Baram dah pun diarah balik kerana kasi 2 kertas undi kpd sorang pengundi, tu pun dia bertugas dr kul 9 td...apo la BN...nak menang pun dgn cara tak gentleman
