Neymar left in awe of Barca
Two goals from Lionel Messi either side of strikes from Xavi and Cesc Fabregas provided a convincing victory for the European champions as Neymar and co were unable to make their mark.
"It's impossible to stop Barcelona, but we are the second-best team in the world and for us that is a great reward," Neymar said.
Santos coach Muricy Ramalho offered a similar assessment of a Barcelona side he deems "invincible".
"Barcelona are the greatest team in the world," he said. "No team can live with them. They're unbeatable at the moment. Losing 4-0 to them is no disgrace."
Pep Guardiola, who has now won 13 out of a possible 16 titles since taking charge at the Camp Nou, was delighted with the performance.
"My players were like artists," Guardiola said. "Whatever they envisaged in their minds they were able to do on the pitch. It was an incredible performance."
On his tactics, he added: "We try to control the midfield and exploit space. We wanted to suffocate the supply to Neymar, who we know is a dangerous player, and to Borges.
"There is no special secret to our success. I am just blessed to work with such terrific players who want to keep on winning. They deserve all the credit."
Messi, who was named player of the tournament, added: "It's beautiful to be world champions but it's a team effort. We often play like that but because it was a final it seemed more beautiful."

Fabregas untuk Barca, Arsenal

BARCELONA - Cesc Fabregas berkata dia berharap untuk menamatkan karier bola sepaknya bersama Barcelona, tetapi jika perlu meninggalkan kelab gergasi Sepanyol itu, Arsenal merupakan kelab pilihannya dan tiada tempat lain.
"Selain daripada Arsenal dan Barcelona, saya tidak dapat lihat diri saya bermain untuk pasukan lain.
"Sudah tentu saya akan kembali (Arsenal) apabila saya mempunyai kelapangan untuk menyaksikan perlawanan dan bertemu dengan bekas rakan sepasukan. Anda juga tidak akan tahu apa yang bakal berlaku di masa depan, mengapa tidak?
"Saya harap saya akan kekal di sini untuk jangka masa yang lama dan mungkin hingga bersara.
"Dalam kehidupan, anda tidak boleh berkata tidak dan jika ada satu tempat yang akan saya kembali, sudah tentu tempat itu adalah Arsenal," jelas pemain berusia 24 tahun itu kepada Sky Sports News.

Víctor Valdés 5.5
Not the way he would have wanted to spend his 30th birthday as he sought a new clean sheet record. But he couldn't have done anything about either of the goals and produced a decent save early on as well.
Carles Puyol 5.5
Given too much work in a three-man back line and it showed today. Flanked by just two defensive team-mates he is stretched in terms of pace and Betis were given too much room at times. Also booked for handball.
éric Abidal 5.0
Another who is given too many responsibilities when he is in a three-man back line. Looked less assured than he usually does and was unable to influence the game going forward. Caught out of position on occasions, despite his pace.
Cesc Fàbregas 5.5
It was his mis-hit shot which inadvertently set up Xavi for the opening goal, but the former Arsenal midfielder was less impressive than he has been in recent weeks. Saw one effort deflected wide in the second half, but was less of a threat than he has been lately.
Xavi 6.5
Showed off his Bronze Ball before kick-off and got off to a bright start with the opening goal, but he faded after that and was unable to exert his usual influence in this match. Got an assist for Alexis' goal, but that was more about the Chilean's finish.
Andrés Iniesta Luján 7.0
Always positive and always looking to offer something different, Iniesta set up Alexis in the build-up to the second and had one excellent run shortly afterwards. Also should have had a penalty in the second half.
Javier Mascherano 6.0
Has looked adept in a three-man back line but less so tonight as Barca gave the ball away too much in midfield. Caught out in terms of pace and positioning as Barca looked rattled, but also made several important interceptions at the back.
Sergio Busquets Burgos 5.0
Not at his best on his 100th league appearance for the Catalan club. Gave away possession on several occasions and offered little going forward as well. Not a night to remember for the midfielder - apart from his milestone.
Alexis Sánchez Top of the Match 7.5
A very positive performance from the Chilean, who is gradually starting to look like a great signing for Barcelona. Provided the assist for Messi's goal and was a constant threat. Also scored a fine third goal when Barca were in need of inspiration at 2-2.
Lionel Messi 7.5
Not his best game, but he still scored twice. Clinically latched onto Alexis' pass to beat Casto for the first and added the second from the spot late on. Also had two or three trademark bursts through the visitors' defence after showing off his Ballon d'Or before kick-off.
Joan Isaac Cuenca Lopez 5.0
Has been brilliant since breaking into the first team earlier this season but this was not his best night as most of Barca's attacks took place on the other side of the pitch. Unable to really break away and was replaced by Alves at the break.
• Substitutions
Daniel Alves 6.0
Came on at half-time and slotted back in after a slow start. Less spectacular going forward than he can be, but he gave Barca more balance after replacing Cuenca.
Adriano 5.0
Came on for the last two minutes to allow Iniesta a nice send-off from the Catalan fans.
Thiago Alcántara 5.0
Replaced Cesc late on and had little opportunity to influence the game. |

Xavi lakar sejarah
XAVI menjaringkan gol pembukaan Barcelona seawal minit ke-10 kelmarin.

MADRID - Perancang Barcelona, Xavi Hernandez meraikan penampilan ke-400 dalam saingan Liga Sepanyol dengan menjaringkan gol pembukaan bagi menewaskan Real Betis 4-2 kelmarin.
Selain Xavi, penyerang sensasi Argentina, Lionel Messi turut meledak gol berganda untuk membantu juara Liga Sepanyol itu membenam Betis yang terpaksa bermain 10 orang, sekali gus merapatkan jurang mata dengan Real Madrid yang memiliki kelebihan lima mata.
Xavi yang merupakan pemain pertama Barca mencatat 400 penampilan, menjaringkan gol seawal minit ke-10 selepas menyambar bola yang melantun hasil sepakan Cesc Febregas.
Selepas itu, skuad bimbingan Pep Guardiola tersebut terus menampilkan aksi garang di Nou Camp apabila Messi menambah gol kedua dua minit kemudian.
Bagaimanapun, pintu gol Barca bolos buat pertama kalinya di tempat sendiri pada musim ini sebelum Betis berjaya memberi saingan sengit setelah menyamakan kedudukan untuk mengikat keputusan 2-2 pada minit ke- 52.
Pertahanan Betis, Mario Alvarez diarah keluar padang selepas menerima kad kuning kedua pada minit ke- 70 dan lima minit kemudian Alexis Sanchez meledak gol ketiga Barca.
Messi sekali lagi mengukuhkan kedudukan Barca selepas menyudahkan sepakan penalti pada minit ke-86 ekoran terkena tangan pemain Betis di dalam kawasan petak penalti.
Xavi berkata, pertembungan dengan Betis kali ini merupakan perlawanan yang paling sukar yang terpaksa dihadapi di tempat sendiri.
"Kami berjaya untuk melepasi perlawanan yang sangat sukar ini. Betis mahukan kemenangan dan mereka telah menampilkan aksi yang baik.
"Persembahan mereka turut memberikan sedikit tekanan pada kami. Pemain-pemain mereka juga memiliki tahap kemahiran teknikal yang baik.
"Ini telah menjadikan permainan kali ini agak terbuka dan setiap pihak memiliki peluang untuk menang," kata Xavi yang merupakan produk akademi remaja yang membuat penampilan pertamanya bersama bekas jurulatih Barca, Louis van Gaal untuk perlawanan Piala Super Sepanyol pada Ogos 1998. - Reuters |
