Match me if you can by Susan Elizabeth Phillips.

It's funny and enjoyable book, but as usual you can guess what will happen in the end. It's just the matter how the writer does it...and SEP did it nicely...

Sypno
Annabelle is tired of being the lone failure in a family of overachievers. She's endured dead-end jobs and a broken engagement. Even her hair's a mess! But that's going to change now that she's taken over her late grandmother's matchmaking business. All Annabelle has to do is land the Windy City's hottest bachelor as her client, and she'll be the most sought-after matchmaker in town. Nothing is going to stand in her way -- not the drunk lying comatose under her car, not her family's disapproval, and certainly not the lingering effects of a broken heart.

With his money green eyes and calculated charm, Heath Champion is the best sports agent in the country. He's wealthy, driven, and gorgeous, so why does he need a matchmaker, especially a red-haired screw-up like Annabelle Granger? True, she's entertaining, and she does have a certain quirky appeal. But Heath is searching for the ultimate symbol of his success -- the perfect wife. And to make an extraordinary match, he needs an extraordinary matchmaker, right?

Thin, rich, utterly fabulous Portia Powers has spent her career making matches for everyone but herself. Her take-no-prisoners attitude has built Power Matches into the top matchmaking agency in Chicago. So what if she has more enemies than friends and she's one breath away from a nervous breakdown? Neither an upstart like Annabelle Granger nor Heath Champion's menacing, but oddly intriguing, bodyguard, will keep her from getting what she wants -- a Power Match for Heath ... the city's very own Jerry Maguire.

Soon everyone in Chicago has a stake in the outcome, right down to Annabelle's overprotective book club. When the matchmaker promises she'll do anything to keep her star client happy ... does she mean anything? If Annabelle isn't careful, she just might find herself going heart-to-heart with the toughest negotiator in town -- a man who's beginning to ask himself: Exactly how perfect does perfect have to be?

Yg terkini, baru habis baca 5 People You Meet in Heaven.
My comment:
Author ni ada idea yg sangat cantik tapi sayangnya jalan n olahan novel ni tak begitu baik.Kejutan yg cuba dicipta tak berapa menjadi.Walaupun novel ni nipis, tapi aku rasa penat nak menghabiskannya. So aku bagi 2 tars out of five.

Sekarang ni sedang baca If You Could See Me Now by Cecilia Ahern.Belum abih, tapi at least dah dapat 3 stars dari aku.

A Treasury of Royal Scandals: The Shocking True Stories History's Wickedest, Weirdest, Most Wanton Kings, Queens, Tsars, Popes, and Emperors - by Michael Farquhar.

Baru habis baca buku ni last week.. dah lama start, tapi baca sikit-sikit -  jadi 'in-between' punya buku...ceritanya exactlly seperti titlenya.. menarik jugak baca betapa absurdnya kehidupan orang zaman lama yang ada absolute power..senang-senang je nak tangkap, pancung, seksa orang ikut suka hati.. cara penulisannya bersahaja tapi humorous.. light reading, sesuai dibaca utk travel, loo, lrt dan yang sewaktu dengannya..

From Publishers Weekly
In another royal expos‚, Farquhar, a writer at the Washington Post, duplicates some of the ground covered in Karl Shaw's Royal Babylon (reviewed above), such as Peter the Great's delight in administering torture (he had his son lashed to death) and the way Britain's Queen Mary cajoled her subjects into giving her their household treasures ("I am caressing it with my eyes," she would coyly coo).

Written in a provocative tabloid style (with headings like "We Are Not Abused. We Are Abusive," "A Son Should Love His Mother, But..." and "All the Holiness Money Can Buy"), Farquhar publicly washes the dirty laundry of not only European royalty, but also of Roman emperors and popes. Murderers and torturers who slept with their siblings (and other relatives), the emperors of Rome excelled at corruption.

The maniacal pedophile Tiberius Caesar (A.D. 14-37) left the corpses of his many victims to rot on the Gemonian Steps, which descended from the Capitol to the Forum, or alternatively enjoyed watching them being thrown from a cliff ("A contingent of soldiers was stationed below to whack them with oars and boat hooks just in case the fall failed to do the trick").

Many popes were no better. Not content with just rooting out Christian heretics by launching a bloody crusade against the Cathars in southern France, Innocent III (1160-1216) declared himself ruler of the world. He sacked Constantinople and massacred every Muslim he could find. Like Royal Babylon, this gossipy string of anecdotes is a popularized rather than an authoritative history and perfect for travel reading.

Just finished reading Kiamat Semakin Hampir

Dave Pelzer. That's one of his book. Her mom called him 'IT'.He wrote a couple of books based on his experience. After the police took him away, his younger brother,Robert, who used to treat him like animal, became the next 'IT'.You can read his story in "A Brother's Journey".

Ok.........nak promote buku yang baru saya habis baca.  Tajuknya The Seduction of His Wife by Janet Chapman.  Ceritanya bagus dan sangat berpuas hati sebab selama ni cuma berminat dengan historical romance jer........

Ini sedikit catatan utk buku tersebut:-

"He set out to seduce her for all the wrong reasons - but found himself falling in love with her for all the right ones."

- Alex Knight is dead - or so everyone thinks.  a widowed logger baron with a risk-taking streak, he took on a South American engineering project and was reported dead after a rebel attact.  so when he turns up back in Maine very much alive, his grieving family is shocked.  But the biggest shock is Alex's, when he discovers he's now married -  to a woman he's never met.

Sarah Banks is ready for a change from running a quiet Bed & Breakfast, and working for the Knight family offers not only a bigger opportunity, but also the family life yearns for.  So she's glad to help secure custody of Alex's orphaned children, whom she's come to love, by marrying their father by proxy before he's legally declared dead.  But when Alex returns, the sexy, determined woodsman upends all of Sarah's plans.  Because suddenly she's married to passionate stranger with an easy smily... and tumbling headlong into a fiery dance of seduction.

Happy reading.
