Selama abad ke-17 sampe ke-18 saya waktu itu diwakilkan oleh VOC, kongsi dagang Belanda yg dibtk utk mendptkan sumber perdagangan rempah2. dan hrs anda akui pula VOC pernah menguasai sebagian kecil dr negeri Anda yaitu Malaka sejak thn 1641 dan diserahkan ke Inggris pd thn 1824 sesuai perjanjian Anglo-Dutch 1824 dan sebagai gantinya saya mendptkan Bengkulu dr Inggris. Jadi sebenarnya hrs kuakui pula bahwa Saya mulai menjajah Indonesia pd thn 1824 di mana saat itu juga Inggris mulai menjajah Malaysia pd thn yg sama pula sesuai perjanjian Anglo-Dutch itu. Pd saat VOC mulai berkuasa di bumi Indonesia juga saat Indonesia di bwh lsg pemerintah Belanda , wilayah taklukan saya blmlah sebesar saat ini . Wilayah Indonesia yg berlaku saat ini mulai Sabang sampe Merauke itu peninggalan Pax Nederlandica 1908 . Oh ya mengenai konfrontasi antara RI dgn Malaysia pd thn 1960-an sebenarnya cuma upaya Bung Karno utk mengalihkan perhatian rakyat RI dr kesulitan ekonomi yg mereka hadapi juga serta menarik dukungan dr TNI-AD . Ngomong2x waktu perayaan 400 tahun VOC di negeri saya thn 2002 , apakah duta besar kamu yaitu Duta Besar Malaysia utk Belanda hadir pd perayaan tsb mengingat VOC pernah berkuasa di Malaka krn Duta besar Indonesia utk belanda nggak mau hadir di Perayaan tsb Padahal VOC dtg ke dunia Timur tsmk ke Indonesia utk menemukan sumber rempah2

Once Suharto decisively sidelined Sukarno in March 1966, the floodgates of foreign aid opened up. The U.S. shipped large quantities of rice and cloth for the explicit political purpose of shoring up his regime. Falling prices were meant to convince Indonesians that Suharto抯 rule was an improvement over Sukarno抯. The regime抯 ability over the following years to sustain economic growth via integration with Western capital provided whatever legitimacy it had. Once that pattern of growth ended with the capital flight of the 1997 Asian economic crisis, the regime抯 legitimacy quickly vanished. Middle class university students, the fruits of economic growth, played a particularly important role in forcing Suharto from office. The Suharto regime lived by foreign capital and died by foreign capital.
By now it is clear that the much ballyhooed economic growth of the Suharto years was severely detrimental to the national interest. The country has little to show for all the natural resources sold on the world market. Payments on the foreign and domestic debt, part of it being the odious debt from the Suharto years, swallow up much of the government抯 budget. With health care spending at a minimum, epidemic and preventable diseases are rampant. There is little domestic industrial production. The forests from which military officers and Suharto cronies continue to make fortunes are being cut down and burned up at an alarming rate. The country imports huge quantities of staple commodities that could be easily produced on a larger scale in Indonesia, such as sugar, rice, and soybeans. The main products of the villages now are migrant laborers, or 搕he heroes of foreign exchange, |

Navy to Buy U.S. Harpoon Missiles
Surabaya (ANTARA News) - The Indonesian Navy planned to buy Harpoon missiles from the United States, following the US decision to lift its military embargo on Indonesia, Navy chief of staff, Admiral Slamet Soebijanto said here on Monday.
"Harpoon missiles are for warships. The number of the missiles and when it will be bought would still have to be discussed further," Slamet said on the sidelines of a ceremony marking the Navy`s founding anniversary here, Monday.
The Indonesian Navy would also discuss Indonesia`s need for other military hardware after the U.S government lift the military embargo, he said.
Meanwhile, budget and planning assistant to the Navy chief of staff, Maj.Gen Yussuf Solichien said, the Harpoon missile will be for the Navy`s frigates.
"These missiles are as powerful as Exocet MM 38 missiles which could hit targets 80 to 100 kilometers away. We have the launchers, but have not been using them in the last five years," Yussuf said.
The Indonesian Navy also planned to buy Russian Yakhount missiles in 2006 for its two frigates which can hit targets 300 kilometers away.
The missiles would cost US$4 million per unit.
"The Harpoon missile purchases for five frigates might be materialized in 2007. The purchase of the more sophisticated Yakhount missiles will depend on our financial condition," he said.
Yussuf said the Navy has also planned to buy four to six submarines until 2009 Indonesia has now only two submarines.
"The two submarines are German-made and we will by the latest models," he said.
The Navy chief of staff has hailed the U.S decision to lift its military embargo on Indonesia, and added that the Navy`s program would run as scheduled even before the embargo was lifted.(*) |
