Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko will undergo a medical on Wednesday ahead of his proposed move to Manchester City.
Dzeko has emerged as City's prime target for the January transfer window as Roberto Mancini seeks to maintain his team's title challenge.
City boss Mancini confirmed on Tuesday that the club had agreed a fee, reportedly in the region of £27million, for Dzeko.
The Bosnia international is now expected to travel to England on Wednesday from Spain where he has been taking part in Wolfsburg's winter training camp.
He will then undergo a medical as he closes in on finalising his move to Eastlands and he could be a City player before the weekend's FA Cup third round tie against Leicester City.
The 24-year-old has been tracked by many of Europe's biggest clubs over the past couple of seasons after proving to be a potent goalscorer at Wolfsburg.
Dzeko has been backed to be a success in the Premier League by Wolfsburg coach Steve McClaren and he is primed to become City's latest big-money acquisition.
His arrival will likely lead to players leaving the club, with strike duo Emmanuel Adebayor and Roque Santa Cruz both linked with moves away this month |
