Liverpool table £12m bid for Bologna star - reports
Liverpool have submitted a formal offer of £12.6million to Bologna for midfielder Gaston Ramirez, according to reports in Italy.
Ramirez, 21, has been on the Anfield club’s radar for the last year, and talkSPORT revealed last week that the playmaker’s agent had visited London for talks with an unnamed Premier League club.
The 21-year-old has featured for Uruguay at the Olympic Games, and scored a stunning free-kick against United Arab Emirates at Old Trafford last week.
And following Uruguay’s exit from the tournament on Sunday, Ramirez is expected to sort out his future, with Calciomercatonews.com reporting that Liverpool have presented a concrete bid to Bologna.
Bologna are believed to be holding out for a fee closer to £16m, but it is thought that they will accept a fee about £14.2m plus add-ons.

Report: Rodgers eyes Agger replacement
The Daily Mail reports that Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers is poised to bid for Swansea's Ashley Williams.

Despite Rodgers' insistence that Daniel Agger's omission from Liverpool's recent Europa League match against Gomel was purely for fitness reasons, speculation regarding the Dane's possible transfer to Manchester City continues to grow. With Agger yet to indicate an interest in extending his current deal with the Reds, Rodgers has singled out Swansea's Williams as a possible replacement for him should the former Brondby player decide to leave Anfield.
Sources from Manchester report that Roberto Mancini has had two bids for Agger rejected by the Liverpool board, but is ready to return with a 20 million pound offer, an amount that Reds owner John W Henry is expected to give in to. La Liga side Barcelona are also believed to be keeping tabs on Agger, but the Catalans are focused on obtaining Arsenal's Alex Song for now.
Although there was supposedly an agreement between Rodgers and Swansea regarding Swans players, that has not stopped Liverpool from making a 10 million pound bid for midfielder Joe Allen and the club are now ready to tempt 28-year old Williams to leave the Liberty Stadium.
Reds striker Andy Carroll may not be around to welcome Allen and Williams, as Liverpool are believed to have accepted 17 million pound loan deal from West Ham for him. Hammers manager Sam Allardyce's admiration for the striker is no secret, and he has the option of making the agreement a permanent transfer at the end of the upcoming season. However, Carroll is stalling on the move as he prefers a return to former club Newcastle, and has requested Liverpool to wait for a bid from Alan Pardew. |
