Carroll, 22, netted his third goal of the season in the 2-0 win at West Bromwich Albion to enhance his claims of a regular role in Kenny Dalglish's starting line-up.
He enjoyed arguably his best match for the club at The Hawthorns since his big-money arrival from Newcastle United, showing signs of forming a deadly partnership with Luis Suarez.
The big striker admits he was disappointed to find himself on the bench for the last two Barclays Premier League outings against Manchester United and Norwich City, and he believes his hard work is now paying off.
"Luis is a great player, he works hard for the team so it is nice to have him up top with me - it makes it a lot easier," noted Carroll.
"He makes chances and can score goals himself so he is a great player himself. He can drop off and get the ball to his feet to dribble with it and slip people in.
"We are playing well together at the minute and hope it will carry on. I must admit I have been disappointed to be on the bench.
"I have been working hard to get my place and I think I have earned it. I played well last week and getting a goal as well this weekend was even better."
The Uruguayan's scintillating form for both club and country has led to countless plaudits over the past 12 months, culminating in his inclusion in a 23-man short-list.
The No.7 has found the net 11 times in 26 matches for the Reds so far, including a stunning brace in the recent Carling Cup triumph at Stoke City.

LIVERPOOL: Kenny Dalglish mengakui pasukan Liverpool kendaliannya perlu bersabar apabila mereka melayan kunjungan Swansea hari ini, yang baru dinaikkan ke saingan Liga Perdana Inggeris (EPL).
Permulaan musim buat The Reds dicemari dengan prestasi buruk di gelanggang sendiri, yang menyaksikan mereka hanya meraih dua kemenangan daripada lima perlawanan. Mereka seri dengan Sunderland pada hari pembukaan liga dan diikat oleh Manchester United dan Norwich, selain bergelut untuk menewaskan Wolves. Swansea pula menunjukkan prestasi memikat sejak dinaikkan ke saingan EPL menerusi playoff Liga Kejuaraan tetapi hanya berjaya meraih satu mata di gelanggang lawan di Stadium Liberty. Apapun, Dalglish menegaskan, pasukannya tidak akan berasa bimbang jika mereka tidak dapat menjaringkan gol awal menentang kelab dari Wales itu.
