Salom Identifies Ben韙ez As His No.1 Target - Report
A report in the Spanish press suggests that Valencia vice-president Rafael Salom has indicated to others at the club that he would like to seal the return of Rafael Benitez to the Mestalla for next season.
Benitez enjoyed a successful three year spell at Valencia from 2001-2004, winning two Spanish league titles and one Uefa Cup, and with speculation continuing to surround his future at Anfield, Salom is hopeful of bringing him back to the club if a report in this morning's Marca is to be believed.
The Madrid based sports paper indicates that Salom has confided in senior officials at the club and told them that Benitez is the man that he wants at the helm next season, and is also hopeful of bringing back former sporting director Eduardo Maci |

Valencia Voice Koeman Support
Valencia president Augustin Morera insists that Ronald Koeman has the full backing of the club despite the team's poor form in La Liga.
This season - and particularly since Ronald Koeman's appointment as manager - Los Che have been a shadow of the side which did so well last season and had been such a force in recent years. They have been well below par for much of the season in La Liga, in addition to crashing out of the Champions League in embarrassing fashion.
The club from southern Spain are floating around the lower end of the table and just six points off the relegation zone. However, Morera insists that the former Barcelona player will remain at the helm on the Mestalla bench for the foreseeable future.

Almeria coach Emery No1 Valencia target

Almeria coach Unai Emery is emerging as the top candidate to succeed Ronald Koeman as Valencia coach in the summer.
AS says Valencia vice-president Rafael Salom wants Emery installed for next season, though knows nothing can happen until club owner Juan Soler sells his controlling stake. Along with Koeman, sports director Miguel Ruiz is also expected to be shown the door.
Even if Valencia lift the Copa del Rey, the board has decided that Koeman must be moved on in the summer after a disastrous campaign.
