Casillas 6.5 - Certainly did not have as much to do as his opposite number and that is reflected in the mark rather than anything he did wrong.
Ramos 6.5 - A decent showing down the right, but like his team-mates there was a lack of real bite about his play when it was needed most.
Pepe 7 - Made some crucial interventions and looked strong, but did not embark on enough of his trademark runs through the middle.
Cannavaro 6 - Never really looked convincing at the back when Espanyol raced forward and showed the odd sign that in the second period.
Heinze 5 - An action-packed game by the Argentinian as he was backwards and forwards all night and was unfortunate to give away what was certainly a penalty.
Diarrá 7 - Improved immensely in the second period and used his strength int he tackle to break up several Epsanyol moves towards goal.
De la Red 6 - Looked calm and collected but definitely lacked the spark that the Madrid midfield required and was rightfully substituted.
Van der Vaart 5.5 - Has helped Madrid up front on so many occasions this term, but he was flat and did not create much at all.
Raúl 7.5 - Not much more could be asked of the captain with his two goals although he really did not contribute much in the second period.
Higuaín 6 - Ran and ran but was unable to become the goalscoring hero that he has been in previous home games and was lucky to stay on.
Van Nistelrooy 5.5 - Looked slightly lost up front and only tested Kameni on one occasion, although he did work back well.
Subs
Sneijder 6 - Good to see him back in action, but he was unable to to influence the game in any great way after coming off the bench.
Robben 5.5 - Came on, ran around, looked like he could cause a few problems and then promptly went back off with an injury.
Drenthe 5 - Also looked lively but showed a lack of intelligence when in key positions and rushed his passes and crosses.
