Sympathy for wound-up Wayne
Wayne Rooney was the victim of hisown urgency to help United salvage something from Saturday's defeat at Fulham, according to Sir Alex Ferguson and Ryan Giggs.
The fire brand substitute, who injected drive and purpose to the Reds'second-half display at Craven Cottage, was sent off by referee Phil Dowd for two bookable offences.
There were no qualms with his first caution, for hauling back Cottagers midfielder Olivier Dacourt,but his second yellow - for hurling the ball to Ryan Giggs to take afree-kick - drew contention.
On MUTV, Sir Alex Ferguson pondered the referee's decision, asking: "Did he throw the ball at the referee? The ball went direct to where the free-kick was taken. Did it hit the referee? It didn't hit the referee. Was the ball thrown in anger? Yes, because he wants the game hurried up. He threw it with pace to get the game going. What can you say?"
Giggs, who skippered the Reds, concurred with his manager's view. "The first one was a booking, Wayne pulled him (Dacourt) back," said the veteran midfielder.
"But for the second booking, he just wanted to get the game going again. He threw the ball back to where the free-kick was and the referee’s opinion is that Wayne threw the ball at him. I think Wayne just wanted to keep the game going because we were losing and the free-kicks and bookings were slowing the game down."
Rooney's dismissal followed a straight red card for Paul Scholes, meaning that they and defender Nemanja Vidic will all miss Aston Villa's visit toOld Trafford through suspension.

Best League in the world, Worst REF in the world
I must agree that after watching Fulham match, i know that MU didnt play particularly well. But the one that make me so angry is that how can the REF mind is ONE SIDED. how many fouls that needed to give to MU side, but he did not give.
It really cost some phycologically damage to MU player.
I dunno, I m very angry.
If MU lose the way they lost to LOOSEPOOL last week, i can accept because we are not performance well. but not because of the REF and we lose.
Are you agree with me?????
I still can cool down........ WTF........ i still believe we will be CHAMPION by end of the may.....
May be the REF is LOOSEPOOL supporter... MAY BE FA want the EPL become more interesting and attract more audience??? |

' Remember those three defeats on the spin in the 1996/97 season where we shipped 5 goals to Newcastle, 6 goals to Southampton and lost at home to Chelsea........Yep we recovered and went on to win the league.
Bit of a similiar scenario now, the last two games have seen us score 1 and concede 6......So i am hoping for a bit of deja vu.
We must always have faith and keep supporting the team. Bellyaching about it isn't going to help, but screaming your lungs out in support both home and away just might  '
