Noboday denied there is so called self defense. Evert nation including Isreal has a full right to hv self defense. The sama applies to Hamas/Palestin.
If u look back Lebanon war 2006, most of ppl do sympathy to Isreal as its town was rain by rockets without any provocation fr IDF. However, the same could not be said to Palestin situation this time. If u care to think objectively, why Hamas wants to fire rockets after won the elections? Isn't Hamas could better to use this opportunity to administer the place and get the recognition internationally justut like what Fatah govt did? Fatah govt was also once view by Isreal as" terriost". Hamas hv no option lefts but to response. I quoted the blockage which u choose to ignored but there are many more reasons. one of it is the continue strike its leader yr in yr out. Again, Hamas is the elected govt. what do u do if u in their shoes? In short,isreal should let Hamas rule without blockage, assination etc then hamas actually would "died down" and not use military means.
The world could be fool once but not all the time if u said we all being fool by Arab progranda. Remember, all news are carried out fr reuters, AFP which local media uses. |

20 civilians. "little" number of Israeli casualties was caused by 3 factors:
1) Palestinian terrorists are lame rocketeers. 80% of their rockets miss towns.
2) Israel has excellent alert system that warnbs 15 sec before rocket fall. During that time u can hide or lie on floor.
3) All schools and buildings were protected, each house around Gaza equiped by protected room.
But thats not life. Living under daily rocket threat. I am sure you would be affraid to stay there even for one day and pee in pants.
For 8 years, every day Israel warned Palestinians: stop rockets or we will respond. Stop rocketd or we will respond. Each time they only increased rocket fire.

Yes its security fence. Since it was built suicide terror attacks ceased. Only several km out of hundreds have wall sections because of sniper fire danger.
During this conflict, Israel is using phosphorus shell in civilain area once again (the first would be in lebanon). Usage if any incendiary weapons are illegall and consider war crimes but what does Israel care as their know that they will not be punished for any war crimes.
Thats simple smoke round. Nothing dangerous about it. Rubbish like "depleted uranium" stories.
Darn it ... I forgot to mention the death tolls of palestine's civilain during the killing and kidnapping of israel's soldiers in 2006
Before 2006 Lebanon was constantly attacking Israel like Hamas do it today. Attacks were minor but disturbing. In 2006 they destroyed two border patrol jeeps with anti tank missiles, killed 10 and hijacked two bodies. They also attacked town Shlomi with mortars amd missiles.
In response Israel bombed bridges in South Lebanon. In response Hezbollah started massive shelling of all norh Israel towns... war started 500-600 Hezies were killed. And since then the border with Lebanon is calm. |

The Hamas leadership rejected on Thursday an Egyptian truce plan for the Gaza Strip for lacking the "valid basis" that would secure Israel's pull out of the Gaza, reopening all border crossings and lifting the blockade against the Palestinians.
A statement by the Damascus-based ten Palestinian factions, including Hamas, said they "didn't see in the Egyptian initiative any valid basis for any acceptable solution as it includes articles deemed risky for the Palestinian resistance and its future."

Bagi wa punya thinking & pengetahuan (mungkin limited). sebenarnya, banyak hasil telah diusahakan antara palestin & isreal sepanjang zaman Arafat walaupun ada gaduh gaduh. Isreal & Palestin masa itu sudah bosan dgn perang dan mahu pendamaian kekalan. Wa sanjung korban dan keberanian yg Isreal PM yg kena bunuh oleh extremes sendiri cipita oslo record (wujur Palestin authority) dan PM lagi saru ambil keputusan berani keluar dari Gaza 2005. Semua ini ke arah utk jadikan Palestin berdaulat satu hari nanti iaitu bersamaan Palestin dapat "balik country". Cuma kalau tak silap wa ,isu baitulmatis jadi problem tak boleh solved. Tapi sayangnya, Kerajaan Isreal seterusnya hanya binasa harapan ini. Bagi wa, kerajaan isreal masih belum capai kematangan politik yg mana "sikit susah "mau military means to solve problem.
Arab saudi sebenarnya offer peace initiative (walaupun reject oleh Isreal), ia sudah bukitkan negara arab boleh terima negara haram dgn syarat. satu change yg cukup besar.

Dari segi keselamatan Isreal, the wall memang berkesan menghalang sucide bomber dari Gaza. Sebab itu, Hamas pakai rocket/ mortar. 
Tapi, sebab-sebab war. wa punya stand is clear.
