Q&A - Korean celebrity LEE KWANG SOO He’s the sneaky turncoat on popular South Korean variety show Running Man. But Lee Kwang Soo, 28, who was here for a fan meet on Saturday, is nothing like his on-screen double-crossing persona. My Paper brings you the highlights of Lee’s side-splitting answers during a press conference on Friday. You’re 1.9m tall. What’s your secret to growing to such an impressive height? I like milk... I will continue to love milk. What are the advantages and disadvantages of being so tall? I’m quite satisfied with my height when it comes to dressing up. The disadvantage is that during the Running Man games, I get noticed quite easily. Rank the Running Man hosts based on their abilities. In last place would be Ji Suk Jin, followed by Haha (Ha Dong Hoon), Gary Kang, Yoo Jae Suk and Song Ji Hyo. I think I would be second-best, and Kim Jong Kook would be No. 1. Kim is very sensitive when it comes to this kind of issues. If he sees this article, he would be happy to see he got first place in my ranking (The muscular Kim is often seen bullying the bumbling Lee on the show). How would you rate your looks on a scale of one to 10, with 10 being the best? Just give me a moment to think. This is a really great question. (Pauses) Maybe seven or eight... I’ll take better care of my appearance. You appear to be hilarious and outgoing on screen. Is there an introverted side to you? Actually, I’m very shy around people. Thankfully, my fellow hosts on Running Man are really bubbly. I get energised from being around them and get excited. In daily life, I tend to get serious. I’m a serious guy. Your popularity among fans in South-east Asia has earned you the title of Asia’s Prince. What Prince Charming qualities do you have? I get very embarrassed and shy whenever I hear the nickname Asia’s Prince. Thanks to the Running Man members and producers, every time I hear the nickname, I don’t know what to do. You have filmed over 150 episodes of Running Man. Which was the most memorable episode for you? It would be the Kingdom Of Animals episode. The last two survivors on the show were Kim and I, and this is a very rare occurrence. I even managed to beat him and score a win. You come across as a kind and sincere person in real life, but that side of you is not captured on Running Man. Do you hope to change your on-screen image? If I want to win and survive in the game, the only way is to betray others. If I could, I’d probably work out and get a cool body like Kim. Then I’ll try to beat him.
