TWO officials of the Ministry of Finance who survived the plane crash in Indonesia last Wednesday returned home yesterday.
Sigar Labau, Assistant Director of the Financial Institutions Division and financial officer Ak Sharulazmi Pg Dr Hj Ismail arrived home safely from Jakarta and into the open arms of their families.
Upon his arrival at the VIP room at the airport, Sigar Labau's family said a prayer and gathered around him with tears and relief that he has arrived to safety.
The atmosphere was heartfelt as each family member took turns embracing him, while also taking note of his arm which was in a cast.
Escorted out of the room by some family members and medics, Sigar Labau was then ushered into an ambulance.
The two Bruneian citizens were among the 97 passengers that escaped the Garuda plane crash that killed 21 passengers and a member of the crew.
Two officials from the Brunei Embassy in Jakarta who rushed to the scene aided them while they were brought to the hospital.
They were on their way to Yogyakarta in Indonesia to attend a meeting of the Working Committee on Asean Capital Accounts Liberalisation when the tragedy struck.
Since the beginning of this year, Indonesia has had three air crashes.
The worst saw the loss of a total of 96 passengers and six crew of the Adam Air Boeing 737 in January.
Just last month, another Adam Air Boeing 737 came to a skidding halt in Surabaya before its fuselage broke in half.
There has not been any conclusive investigations into both crashes.
Meanwhile, investigators the other day wrapped up the search for clues at the site of the Indonesian plane crash. They have recovered the aircraft's "black box".

Nda jua Hawk tau banar2, tau sikit2 saja. Pasal nya di Brunei ani, kalau kan memohon membuat rumah, renovation rumah kah, lama banar baru dapat approval nya. Apa lagi kalau kan membuat housing estate atau bangunan kadai, mau jua betaun2. Ia tah by the time permohonan approved, saturated tia sudah tapi terpaksa jua di taruskan. Developer will not lose pasal kalau booking org kan membali atu balum cukup, balum tah dorg start membangun tu. Kemudian, dorg mendapat payment progressively, according to percentage siap bangunan yg berkenaan.
Pasal statistics atu, nda berapa accurate pasal kebanyakan infomation yg di terima nda berapa lurus, ia tah perangkaan nya pun salah. Sources Hawk nada jua berapa lah, cuma daripada apa yg Hawk baca, mendangar berita, mendengar ucapan2 org basar2 kitani, mendangar dari kawan2 dan ada sedikit dari apa yg Hawk perhatikan. Kadang staistics ani indah khabar dari rupa. |

Awu org kerajaan, Ministry of Finance kali. Ia tah org2 embassy kitani di Jakarta terabang ke Jogjakarta tu.
Hawk mendengar berita kemalangan ani sebalum berita di siarkan di radio sebab salah seorg dari org Brunei atu menalipun mama nya membari yg dorg atu selamat. |
