Michael Carrick Believes There Is More To Come From Manchester United
The England midfielder is confident the Red Devils can produce more in their bid for the title...
Manchester United midfielder Michael Carrick fully expects his side to produce more in front of goal after the Red Devils sneaked past Everton at Old Trafford yesterday with the only goal of the game coming from Cristiano Ronaldo with a spot kick.
Carrick was later named man of the match, but the 27-year-old believes that United were not at their best.
Speaking to The Manchester Evening News, Carrick said, "It was never going to be easy for us. We played well in the first half but they made it difficult for us after.
"We're happy with the 1-0 win and another clean sheet. In all honesty we could have scored more but there is still more to come from us.
"The win was what we wanted, that's the most important thing. The performance comes after that."
"We have done our bit for this weekend. We have a long week off now so we can recover and rest for that."
The win for United takes them five points clear at the summit of the Premier League table, and enhances their quest for another title.
The former West Ham United player has played a pivotal role this season for United, and has begun to ease the doubts over his massive £18.6 million fee two and a half years ago.
The Tyne and Wear born player has played 81 Premier League games for the league holders since his move from Tottenham Hotspur in 2006, and has been on target seven times in the process.
