FERNANDO Torres meluahkan kekecewaannya kerana masih gagal menyumbangkan gol untuk Chelsea selepas tercari-cari jaringan sejak pertengahan Oktober lalu.
Dia menjaringkan gol ketika menentang Genk dalam Liga Juara-Juara tetapi dalam 19 perlawanan kelab selepas itu, dia masih buntu untuk mencipta jaringan.
Persembahan hebat ketika menentang Sunderland dan Manchester United terjejas dengan aksi hambar sewaktu berdepan Everton dan Norwich tetapi apa yang pasti adalah kemarau jari�ngannya masih berterusan.
“Secara jujurnya selepas setahun saya mengharapkan keadaan lebih baik berbanding sekarang,” kata Torres.
“Ia satu situasi yang sukar kerana saya gembira dengan kehidupan peribadi.
Kami benar-benar sukakan kelab ini dan gembira dapat bekerjasama dengan kakitangan dan pemain.
“Di padang, ia satu detik yang sukar buat Chelsea kerana kami gagal mencapai keputusan dikehendaki tetapi kami mengubah beberapa perkara seperti corak permainan dan masih mempunyai pasukan muda untuk melakukannya.
“Secara peribadi, saya perlu memperbaiki prestasi. Ketika bersama Liverpool, ada kalanya permainan saya tidak begitu baik atau tidak melakukan apa-apa tetapi setiap kali menyentuh bola, saya pasti menjaringkan gol.
“Perasaan saya begitu pelik kini memandangkan saya rasa tahap fizikal saya jauh lebih baik. Saya tidak mencari peluang dan jika memperolehnya, saya gagal menjaringkan gol.”
Jaringan terakhir dalam Liga Perdana Inggeris adalah ketika menentang Swansea, September lalu iaitu satu perlawanan yang turut menyaksikannya dibuang padang kerana cuba melakukan terjahan.
“Sepanjang hidup saya, sejak kecil lagi saya melakukan perkara yang sama,” kata Torres.
“Pengurus saya mengajar untuk bekerja kerana itulah caranya saya mendapatkan ganjaran. Ia adalah perkara yang sentiasa saya lakukan dan itulah yang saya tahu, jadi saya sentiasa bersedia menghadapi perlawanan dengan cara yang sama.
“Setiap pemain atau atlet adalah berbeza. Saya cuba membayangkan corak perlawanan sebelum ini tetapi ia tidak membantu saya.
“Saya tidak melakukannya di Chelsea kerana saya mendapat�kan cara untuk mendapatkan persediaan yang sesuai bagi saya. Dua hari sebelum perlawanan, saya mula berfikir mengenai pasukan lain dan pertahanan mereka kerana saya mengetahui kelebihan dan kekurangan mereka.
“Masa depan saya berada di sini,” kata penyerang itu.
“Banyak lagi yang ingin saya buat di sini dan saya mahu melakukannya kerana saya sentiasa membuat apa yang diingini di kelab jadi tiada apa yang berubah.”
Jika Torres masih gagal menemui sentuhan berbisa, kreativiti rakan sepasukan dan rakan senegara, Juan Mata cukup penting.
“Dia adalah pemain yang serasi dengan saya terutama di bahagian tengah, di belakang penyerang,” kata Torres.
“Dia boleh membantu dan mencari penyerang dan membuat hantaran akhir untuk meletakkan anda di depan penjaga gol. Anda boleh lihat mengapa peminat sukakannya.”

An Ezequiel Lavezzi double either side of an Edinson Cavani strike made the difference as Napoli came back from a goal down to put themselves in the driving seat of their Champions League first knockout round tie with a 3-1 win over Chelsea.
Juan Mata opened the scoring after 27 minutes when an error from Paolo Cannavaro let him in for an easy finish, but Lavezzi hit a classy equaliser on the edge of the area shortly afterwards. |

Rarely beaten though perhaps did not test Bolton's reluctance to attack by bombing forward enough himself.

A typical display. Defensively sound and keen to join in attacking-wise. Blues fans will be hoping that any rift with the manager can be put to one side.
David Luiz 7.0
Showed a striker’s instinct in the box, with Chelsea’s opener entirely down to his drive and forward impetus. Still prone to giving the ball away at key times though will be thankful of the clean sheet
Gary Cahill 6.5
Seemed to be well acquainted with the threats his former team-mates had to offer though in truth was rarely threatened.
Michael Essien 6.5
Did the dirty work for Chelsea in the middle of the park and his familiarity seemed to lift both the spirits of his team and the crowd.
Ramires 6.0
Anonymous for large spells though full of the running he usually brings. Did little in terms of creative output.
Frank Lampard Top of the Match 8.0
A robust and willing display that showed he should clearly be a mainstay in the Chelsea midfield. Initiated a lot of Chelsea moves while also remaining responsible for his defensive duties. Put the cherry on the top with the third goal.
Juan Mata 6.5
Unusually subdued by his standards though provided the odd spark here and there and got the assist for Lampard's finish.
Didier Drogba 8.0
Looked sharp up front with an array of neat turns and awkward-to-defend muscle up front. Brought Sturridge and Mata into the game and effectively won the game for his team with a textbook Drogba header.
Daniel Sturridge 7.5
It’s difficult to see him getting the time as a centre forward that he's so desperately clamouring for, mainly because of his effectiveness cutting in from the flank. Faded a little in the second which was unusual, as Chelsea seemed to grow in confidence.

West Brom didn’t trouble him too much, but the Czech Republic international did pull off one good stop from Morrison as he tipped the long-range effort over the bar.

Found Thomas’ trickery and pace hard to deal with initially, but the winger got quieter in the second-half and Ivanovic ended up having a relatively easy afternoon.
Ashley Cole 6.0
Was beaten by Odemwingie a few times, but he pulled off an excellent piece of defending as he jumped in to clear just as Morrison stooped to head home.
David Luiz 6.0
Today was your typical David Luiz performance. He made the easy look hard, and dealt strangely well with tougher opportunities.
Gary Cahill 5.5
Struggled with Fortune all match, with the striker clearly having the better of their physical battle. Always looks calm on the ball, but was given a tough battle by his opponent.
Michael Essien 6.0
Always wanted the ball and his passing was accurate, while he also pulled off an excellent long-range shot, but he couldn’t do it all by himself as he was the only one of Chelsea’s midfield who looked like they really wanted to play. Replaced by Torres.
Ramires 5.5
Offered energy and was a willing runner, as he always is, but he was dominated by Andrews and Mulumbu for the most part. Struggled throughout.
Frank Lampard 5.0
The England midfielder is believed to be growing extremely annoyed with his manager for leaving him out of the team too often, but with performances like today, it’s hard to see what he can complain about. Offered no sort of challenge to Mulumbu or Andrews and rarely got into the penalty area.
Juan Mata 6.0
Tried to make things happen, but ultimately failed. Struggled against Reid when moving out wide, while Andrews and Mulumbu successfully put the brakes on him when he was central.
Didier Drogba Flop of the Match 5.0
Looked disinterested for the entire 90 minutes. His passing was lazy, his tackling was half-hearted and showed no hunger at all.
Daniel Sturridge 5.5
Not his greatest performance for Chelsea, offering little down the right. Struggled to beat Ridgewell all game and was eventually brought off for Malouda.

Replaced Sturridge but did even less. Very quiet cameo.

Premier League - Chelsea sack Villas-Boas

Chelsea have sacked manager less than 24 hours after the London club suffered a 1-0 away defeat to West Bromwich Albion on Saturday in the Premier League. 
The club said in a statement: "Andre Villa-Boas has parted company with Chelsea Football Club today. "The board would like to record our gratitude for his work and express our disappointmentthat the relationship has ended so early. "Unfortunately the results and performances of the team have not been good enough and were showing no signs of improving at a key time in the season. "The club is still competing in the latter stages of the Uefa Champions League and the FA Cup, as well as challenging for a top-four spot in the Premier League, and we aim to remain as competitive as possible on all fronts. "With that in mind we felt our only option was to make a change at this time. "With immediate effect Roberto Di Matteo has been appointed first team coach on an interim basis until the end of the season." Eurosport |
