Arjun Rampal's item number in `Ek Ajnabee`
Just yesterday we informed you about the item song that Sanjay Dutt performed for Ek Ajnabee. Wasn't that good?
Undoubtedly! But the best is yet to come. Check out Arjun Rampal get into the item song mode for Ek Ajnabee and you will know what are we talking about.
Long locks. Tattooed arms. Chiseled body. Rampal has never looked more stunning. And when he has company of a Czechoslovakian hottie, Hannah, it has to be a complete eye-stopper.
But what makes the video exceptional is musician duo Vishal-Shekhar's foot-stomping score to the track that has a highly westernized feel to it with partial English lyrics. And like Dutt's rap video, this track too talks about the title character. 'Mama Told Me, Don't Talk To The Stranger' goes the unconventional lyrics.
You have to see the video and listen to the tune to know how entrancing this groovy number is.

No Salman, Akshay project
The tinselville is abuzz with speculation that actor Puneet Issar, who made his directorial debut with Garv, has teamed Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar in his next project. But Punit denies the development outright.
In an exclusive conversation with this writer, Puneet [he抯 shooting in Chandigarh] states that his next venture will star Salman only. 揑 really don抰 know how these rumors originated in the first place. I抎 like to clear the misconception about the casting of my new film. It抯 a solo hero film with Salman again, |

Akshay, for women of all ages
Akshay Kumar is having quite a year.
After tasting success with Amitabh Bachchan in Vipul Shah's Waqt, the hunk has just scored this Diwali season's biggest hit with Garam Masala.
While the film continues to make audiences roll with laughter, Akshay is more than aware that the film where he plays an incorrigible playboy runs the danger of being labelled chauvinistic.
To get the ladies on his side, the actor joined in with the celebrations at a special women-only screening of the film on Thursday, in Mumbai's Fame Malad theatre.
As the gleeful faces in the photograph indicate, Akshay can't help but be a treat, for women of all ages.

Meet Sanjay Dutt, god of death
Sanjay Dutt has always had a deadly sense of style, but this role is taking it to the extreme.
Sanju's next film, Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi sees him playing Yamraj, the Lord of Death.
Mind you, he won't come with a mace on his shoulders or a handlebar moustache as you would think. Instead, Dutt will play a suavely dressed, modern-day collector of souls.
Accompanying him in the film will be Shahid Kapur and Amrita Rao, the pair of 2003's Ishq Vishq.
A surprise element in the film is Shahid's eight-year-old brother Ishaan, making his first big-screen appearance.
Shahid, handling a bunch of kids of various ages, is called Adi Chacha in the film.
Sangeeta Ahir, the film's producer, is excited. "Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi is my first film, and it is a very ambitious project. It will appeal to kids of all ages with spectacular, never-seen-before special effects on Indian screen. I'm sure the kids will just love it," she claims.
The film is loosely based on two earlier hits, Mr India and Koi Mil Gaya - a perplexing combination if ever there was one.
Vaah! Life Ho To Aisi releases in time for Christmas, on December 23.

Bollywood's over the top style works, say Tharoor, Amisha
Critics always turn up their noses at Bollywood's exaggerated style of story-telling but that is exactly what makes them successful, opined United Nations Under-secretary General and author Shashi Tharoor, and actress Amisha Patel.
Tharoor and Amisha Patel were speaking during a panel discussion on `Development and impact of Indian films' here yesterday.
Tharoor pointed out that since Indian films have over-the -top acting and narration, they have easily overcome the barriers of language.
"Hindi movies are popular even in Africa and Arab countries. A Senegalese woman can appreciate Bollywood movie without knowing Hindi and without benefit of subtitles," he said.
"Everything is so exaggerated in our movies, it becomes "telegraphic" and reaches out easily," he added.
While Tharoor held that exaggeration was necessary for reaching out, Amisha said people like it because it creates "an alternative reality".
"It offers a three-hour escape," she said. Talking about Bollywood's song-and-dance formula, she said it could be put down to lack of music channels like MTV in India before cable TV arrived.
Talking about Hindi cinema's capacity to influence, she said her blockbuster movie `Gadar' got her female fans even from Pakistan which is profusely bashed in the movie.

Defamation case filed against Raveena
People Interactive India Private Ltd, owner of marriage portal Shaadi.Com and its publication Shaaditimes.Com, has filed a defamation case against film star Raveena Tandon in the Metropolitan Magistrate court for making derogatory remarks in the media against the portal.
"Raveena had made derogatory and defamatory remarks in the media against Shaadi.Com in the media saying the portal was irresponsibly writing articles without any basis," lawyer Sujit Jain said.
In response to her defamatory remarks and to prove its bonafides, he said,"People Interactive, the owner of 'Shaadi.Com' and `Shaaditimes' has filed a criminal complaint against Raveena Tandon for defamation and to seek her prosecution."
Jain pointed out that despite the Bombay High Court during the recent hearing of suit filed by her against the portal recognised that Tandon had given interview to the portal, the film star had made derogatory and defamatory remarks in the media about 'Shaadi.Com' that it was irresponsibly writing articles without any basis.

Diya Mirza in Sonu抯 latest album
Sonu Nigam sure is churning out album after album! His recent `Chanda Ki Doli` is barely out of public memory and he is already ready with yet another album.
Titled `Kajara Nite`, the first video from this album to hit the airwaves is `Kajara Mohabbat Wala`. It has been performed by Sonu Nigam and Alisha Chinoy. And adding a dash of glamour to the video is Bollywood belle, Diya Mirza. It has been choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant.
The trend of casting Bollywood stars in music videos was popularized by Adnan Sami who managed to rope in everyone from Rani to Raveena to Amisha for his videos. Perhaps Sonu didn抰 want to be left behind!

Bipasha...aah
She can kill with a smile/She can wound with her eyes... the lyrics sum up actress Bipasha Basu perfectly.
Sweet 'n' spicy, that's me : We are three sisters and though I am the middle child, let me tell you that I used to bully my eldest sister Bidisha a lot though my youngest sister Vijeta was everyone's baby.
But, I was not a naughty child. In fact, I like to believe that I had a lil' bit of sweet and a lil' bit of spice! My parents have inculcated strong, middle-class values in all of us and these have stood me in good stead over the years.
Glamour's very own baby : I like to believe that I was fashionable even when I was in my baby seaters! During my growing-up years, my father was in Australia and I still remember all the lovely dresses and cute bikinis he would send for us.
I took part in the Supermodel Contest while still in school. Winning that competition was the turning point of my life. Life's ups and downs: As part of my contract, after winning the contest, I went to New York.
However, back home, out of sight was out of mind. When I came back after seven months, work was scant and it was an uphill climb to success. I stayed in a dingy apartment and my dinner everyday was a pack of instant noodles.
It was then that friends like Nari Hira came to my rescue and gave me a place to stay. Eventually, work started coming in. Though it was a bad phase, it taught me a lot. I met two of my closest friends, Dino and Susan, during this phase.
I am, who I am : Ajnabee was offered to me when I was contemplating what next, and I came with my own set of rules. I still remember once, while shooting, I walked amidst the entire cast with a tall glass of iced tea in my hand, wearing a backless top.
The drink was mistaken for wine and combined with my attire, it marked me as bold! But, I am glad I never got tied down to any of these make-believe pretences.
John and me : We are as alike as chalk and cheese but love conquers all. I see his family as an extension of mine. I call his mom Auntie Phiroza and I think his father has an amazing sense of humour.
They are a very simple couple. Marriage is not on our minds for the next five years though we are as good as married |

Sushmita Sen to rock in Rocking
Sushmita Sen will play the role of a rock-singer in Tanuja Chandra's next film, Rocking.
According to Chandra, the film is an emotional love story, which will portray Sushmita in a role that she has never essayed before.
"The role has all the flamboyance and exuberance that is characteristic of Sushmita's persona but there is a lot of drama and intensity in it. It will give her a new high in acting," Chandra reveals to Bollywood Trade.
Chandra worked on the script especially with Sushmita in mind. "I met and gave her a one-line narration of the story before I signed up with the producers, B.A.G. Films. She showed a keen interest in the film from day one."
The film will be shot in a six-month spell from February 2006, with the climax to be shot in London. Music-director Anu Malik has recorded a unique score for the film to go with its musical content.
Meanwhile, Chandra denies that she has abandoned the idea of going ahead with Runway, the project that she had earlier planned with Sushmita.

Spotlight back on Sanjay Dutt
Actor Sanjay Dutt's makeover from the mean action hero to the lovable, well-meaning 'bhai' might be cut short by the recent extradition of underworld don Abu Salem from Portugal.
Having decided to concentrate on cases relating to the 1993 Mumbai blasts, the CBI is expected to ask Salem some tough questions about the charge that he carried a cache of arms to Sanjay Dutt's residence following the blasts.
The charge is part of a larger case against Salem for having distributed arms and ammunition in Mumbai before the blasts that killed hundreds.
The gangster's response will definitely have a bearing on the actor's defence in the TADA case he is currently facing for keeping an AK-56 assault rifle.
Dutt's defence counsel Satish Maneshinde played down the issue, claiming, according to agency reports, that Salem had already declared before the Tada court that he did not wish to give a statement to the CBI.
He further said that the value of any testimony given 12 years after the alleged incident would be suspect. CBI sources, however, said Dutt could be questioned again. A senior agency official said, ''The Mumbai blasts case is the most important one for us.

Sanjay-Salem proximity to be highlighted in by-poll campaign
The Abu Salem issue is likely to figure in the ongoing campaign for the Mumbai north-west parliamentary constituency by-poll, with the Opposition BJP slated to play-up the alleged proximity of the gangster with actor Sanjay Dutt, brother of Congress nominee Priya Dutt.
The Parliamentary constituency is going for a by-poll that was necessitated by the demise of sitting MP and Union Minister Sunil Dutt, in May this year.
With the CBI likely to focus its interrogation on finding out links between Salem and Sanjay Dutt, as is alleged in the 1992 Mumbai serial bomb blast conspiracy case, the BJP has found it handy to raise the issue in the poll campaign, not only to embarrass the Congress nominee, but also to keep Sanjay Dutt away from campaigning for his sister.
Sanjay Dutt, who is abroad on a shooting assignment, had reportedly promised to join the poll campaign from November 16 onwards, during which he is believed to have organised a star-studded show in north-west Mumbai to support his younger sister.
"We will protest if Sanjay participates in the poll campaign. People have every right to ask the Dutts to explain Sanjay's role in the bomb blasts that claimed so many innocent lives," Mumbai BJP President Vinod Tawade, told PTI here today.
He said the strategy to counter Sanjay Dutt will be decided after his campaign programme is announced.

Mahima Choudhary returns with Home Delivery
Mahima Choudhary抯 search for excellence continues, as she returns with Sujoy Ghosh抯 Home Delivery and Junaid Memon抯 The Film. Excerpts from an interview:
On Home Delivery: Sujoy is a dear friend and I always love to work with friends. He is a delight to work with. The film is a comedy, where I play Maya, a South Indian siren about whom Vivek Oberoi fantasises. Vivek plays a newspaper columnist who solves people抯 problems. Ayesha Takia plays his fianc閑. Vivek dreams of me and, one fine day, I land up at his house.
On comedy: Yes, comedy is tough. Initially, I was a bit reluctant about doing the film. But Sujoy won抰 do anything unless he is totally sure about it. The best part about him is that he has a clear understanding and that made my job easier. I didn抰 have to speak with a South Indian accent in the film as I play a North Indian girl who goes to the South and now wants to return to Bollywood to work with Karan Johar. And yes, I have an absolutely new look in the film.
On having fun: Vivek is a very bright actor. With Ayesha I don抰 have any
scene except a song, but I interacted with her off the sets. The ambience was very chilled out on the sets. Boman (Irani) was taking his own sweet time
to get ready and so I could also take my time.
On Junaid Memon: Junaid and I are from the same background (Channel [V]). One day he just barged into my house and offered me the role in The Film.
On the concept: The concept is quite appealing. It抯 about seven people wanting to make a film and the struggle they undergo. I play a struggling writer.
On relationships: Another reason that I did the film was the ensemble cast. The Film also deals with how friendships go sour when crises emerge. It has the underworld touch. A bhai finances the film and the struggling seven are in trouble when he threatens them for getting money by using his name. Talking about making statements, The Film is even moralistic at times.
On her Bengali debut: I am looking forward to Kaushik Ganguly抯 Sir. I am a great fan of Uttam Kumar and Suchitra Sen. I have watched many of their films though I can抰 name them. I admire Satyajit Ray. Now, I am busy brushing up my Bangla.

Aishwarya Rai getting into shape for Dhoom 2
Esha Deol went svelte and shapely for Dhoom. Now, Aishwarya Rai seems all set to do the same for Dhoom 2 and has even asked for a couple of months to get into shape.
She is concentrating on a sleek look to go with her 'Catwoman'-like villainy in the sequel to the hit biker film of last year.
But the actress is tightlipped about her role and only says: "All I can tell you is it would be nothing like anything you've seen me do before."
Apparently, Rai's contract stipulates that she will slip into a bikini in Dhoom 2.
Yash Chopra, producer of the film, laughs off the rumour and says: "I don't think our contract can specify such things. But, yes, the role does require Aishwarya to convey oodles of sensuality. She has asked for a couple of months to get into shape.
"We (at Yashraj Films) are very clear about every character in every script and what's required of the actors. Before Dhoom, Esha Deol was specifically briefed about the look and the attitude that she needed to cultivate. Esha readily agreed. And look at what Dhoom did to her career!"
So is it makeover time for Aishwarya Rai? And will Dhoom 2 revamp her image?
Murli Manohar, producer of Aishwarya's hard-hitting real-life drama Provoked, doesn't agree: "It's not required. Aishwarya is already doing such a wide variety of roles. She doesn't need a makeover."
JP Dutta also feels the same: "I feel she has a truly international stature and can go to any level if guided correctly. The very fact that I want her to play both Umrao Jaan and Gayatri Devi proves how much faith I've in her range."
Last month, Abhishek Bachchan, Rimii Sen, Bipasha Basu and Uday Chopra started shooting for Dhoom 2, which Yash Chopra says will be bigger, much more lavish and dazzling and many sizes larger than life than Dhoom that gave a fillip to at least three actors' careers: Abhishek Bachchan, Esha Deol and John Abraham.
Though John has been eliminated from the sequel, Esha is very much around. The film's arch-villain Hrithik Roshan and seductive moll Aishwarya Rai join the cast later.
Both actors intend to enjoy the process of turning negative and have worked out their characters' looks in detail in consultation with producer Aditya Chopra and director Sanjay Gadhvi.
