Albelda, Ca駃zares And Angulo Back In At Valencia
David Albelda, Santiago Ca駃zares and Miguel 羘gel Angulo have been welcomed back in from the cold by new Valenicia coach Voro as one of his first duties at the helm.
The new trainer, who real name is Salvador Gonz醠ez Marco, took over from Ronald Koeman at Mestalla this week and has made a bold first move to welcome back the trio of outcasts.
In his first press conference as coach, Voro stated that Albelda, Ca駃zares and Angulo would form part of his 25-man squad as he requires every player to help the club avoid relegation.
"The three players form part of the 25-man first team squad and are like any other of the players. If I think they are ready to play, they'll play," confirmed the club's new coach. "They haven't had a game for four months and we are playing for our lives in a very short space of time.
"In addition to not having played, there also is their state of mind to consider because they have gone through a difficult situation. But I will pick them if I think they can contribute to the team. But I don't want a sporting decision to be interpreted as a political one. I want to be very clear on this issue."
Soon after Koeman's arrival before Christmas the three stars were singled out and told that they were no longer part of the club's plans and could look for new teams.
Whether the orders came from the Dutchman or from former president Juan Soler is unclear, but the new man in charge is not prepared to allow the three Spanish internationals to not play.

Morientes Rushed To Hospital
Valencia striker Fernando Morientes has been rushed to hospital with acute abdominal pains and fever...
The Spanish hit-man underwent tests on Tuesday morning but no conclusive causes of the symptoms have been determined yet.
It is a blow to Valencia, who have already endured a miserable season, losing two managers, floating above the relegation zone and a Copa del Rey title which proved scant consolation for Ronald Koeman, who was sacked just two days ago.
Former Real Madrid and Liverpool man Morientes has been out for much of the season due to injury and has been sorely missed by his side.
An official statement club website read: "The Valencia CF player Fernando Morientes remains in hospital due to abdominal pain, and will remain there under observation."
No further information is available on the player's condition as of yet.

Reinstated Valencia trio could return to play for Spain at Euro Championship
Posted: Tuesday Apr 22, 2008 6:38 PM
VALENCIA, Spain (AP) -David Albelda, Santiago Canizares and Miguel Angel Angulo may be included on Spain's European Championship roster now that they have been reinstated at Valencia by the club's new coach, national team manager Luis Aragones said Tuesday.
The trio were reinstated by Salvador Gonzalez during his first day in charge at Valencia as he reversed previous coach Ronald Koeman's decision to banish the former Spain internationals.
"Canizares, Albelda and Angulo have possibilities to go to the Euro Cup depending on how they are and what happens from this point with Valencia,'' Aragones said.
Albelda is the only one of the three who was chosen by Aragones to play following Koeman's decision in December. The Valencia midfielder featured in Spain's 1-0 victory over France in February but has not been recalled since.
Gonzalez - or "Voro,'' as he is known - said that the three players would be competing for a place on the team like everyone else over the final five rounds.
"They are players like the other 25 and if I think they are ready to play, they'll play,'' Voro said at a news conference. "But I don't want a sporting decision to be interpreted as a political one. I want to be very clear on this issue.''
Voro moved from being a Valencia official to replacing Koeman on Monday, when the Dutchman was fired five days after leading the club to its seventh Copa del Rey title. Valencia, expected to challenge for the league title this season, is 16th in the Spanish league only two points above relegation.
Koeman replaced Quique Sanchez Flores in November with the club trailing league leader Real Madrid by four points. Koeman immediately excluded the three Spanish internationals, but the team earned only 18 points from 22 games. Valencia now trails Madrid by 33 points.
"We never imagined we'd be where we are now this season, but it is what it is, and, if the club believes in me, I'm very grateful,'' said Voro, a former Valencia and Spain defender.
Valencia parted ways with Koeman following Monday's crisis meeting, with Spanish media suggesting the former PSV Eindhoven and Benfica coach would receive about ?10 million (US$16 million) after completing only six months of a three-year contract.
Valencia hasn't played out of Spain's first division since the 1986-87 season. |

Valencia eye Rafa and Sven
SPAIN CHANCE ... Sven Goran Eriksson
RAFA BENITEZ and Sven Goran Eriksson are on Valencia抯 hitlist to replace axed boss Ronald Koeman.
Dutch legend Koeman was booted out after less than six months following a controversiol reign which has left the club just above the La Liga drop zone.
Unsettled Liverpool chief Benitez is still adored by the Valencia faithful after landing titles in 2002 and 2004 and remains their most successful manager.
But Eriksson, with his Manchester City future up in the air, is also a target for the Mestalla board who dumped Koeman despite last week抯 Spanish Cup final win over Getafe |
